I'm getting M1 Hunter on the Halloween sale, but it seems like it would be a good time to get a M2 turret as well. At my current rank, I can get M2 Isida or M2 Freeze. Both are good. Any suggestions?

Isida needs more speed IMO to be effective. Wasp is very good with it, the Hornet ok, but the Hunter is already too slow...

Freeze M2 might be a bit better, because of it 's obvious ability to stop the opponent in his tracks. Still I would prefer Hornet with the Freeze.

Best weapons in my view for the Hunter M1 are the Thunder M1/M2 and the Rico M2. From these two I would go for Thunder.

Hunter / isida makes a very good all-purpose medic :D

I'm saying goodbye to my M0 Hunter, since I'm getting M1 Hunter after the server restart. I've been through a lot with it (I used it all the way until I got M1 Dictator at WO3), and it's served me well. Farewell.

The reason I'm making a big deal out of this is because after I buy M1 Hunter, I will not have anything I originally started out with anymore. I'm leaving behind my newbie days. I'm using Green since it's the default paint, and I picked Fort Knox since it was the first map I've ever played in.

Alright, I have my hands on M1 Hunter. Thoughts:

  • Huge improvement over M0. Decent speed, much better turning speed, much more health, more stable.
  • It feels a little heavy to handle, but I haven't used Hunter in a long time. I'll get used to it.
  • My Shaft is currently MUing in the garage, so I haven't tried Hunter-Shaft. I'm using Hunter-Smoky though, and it's GREAT. One of the matches on Halloween I've played had a lot of Railguns, so Hunter-Smoky with Tundra is indeed a Railgun killing machine. They run away in mortal fear when they see this combo advancing.
  • I'll try Firebird-Hunter later.

Anybody here read Russian? I was playing in a battle with my Hunter-Smoky, and a guy mentioned my username along with some swear words. Can somebody give a translation of what he/she's saying? The image is here.

I bet he/she is complaining about Shafts there XD, anyway, report it in the Violators section.

It 's not bad, but the Hunter does lack speed. With nitro on it may well become the best hull with Isida, without it 's mediocre IMO.

And you are not always on nitro, neither should you.

Wasp/Isida is great in CTF, good in TDM and not that useful in DM...

Better use Hunter/Isida in DM or maybe even better: another combo...

The Isida is a versatile weapon which best should be used like that.

The Wasp IMO is the most suited platform. You can keep up with your speedy teammates, rush in where your attention

is needed in attack and defense and so on.

Wasp 's lack of armour is an issue, but Isida 's self-healing does compensate pretty good!

Besides, this translates into engaging gameplay with Isida: if you don 't use its versatility it becomes boring very soon.

In my earlier Tanki days I considered it the most boring weapon of all because I used it solely in defence.

The "honour" of most boring weapon is now gone to the Shaft, but hey you never know what will happen in the future! ;)

One moment you are healing your camping Shaft teammate, (just once plz. don 't become one of those camping Isidas...)

the next moment you are part of a fast attack with Wasps and Hornets where you try to heal the attackers

that aren 't already doomed. Just in this manner you already contribute a lot to a possible success.

Enemies that get to close are a great prey for your nanobots and healing your fragile Wasp in the meantime isn 't bad either,

and if the defence is weakened enough or unalert Wasp/Isida is without a doubt one of the best flagcapers there is...

with or without nitro...

I killed him many, many times. His M1 Hornet/M0 Thunder really doesn't stand up to M1 Hunter/M1 Smoky. I'll report him later when I have the time.

Hunter-Shaft is officially my favorite Shaft combo now. It's quite fast, so you can duck in and out of cover fairly easily, while still maintaining good health. On a recent Stadium CTF, I managed to become the number one target of the enemy team in a few minutes because I was sniping so many people. We lost, since my team wasn't very good (M0.5s*, early M1s vs the enemy team's M1s, late M1s, and some M2s), but I still managed to rack up an impressive K/D ratio and quite a bit of XP.

Speaking of XP, I'm roughly halfway through 3rd Lieutenant now. There isn't anything I want at Second Lieutenant, so I can just collect crystals until 1st Lieutenant, where I'll be getting quite a few things (M2 Dictator, M2 Ricochet, possibly Sandstone, since it's smexy and a good paint).

*M0.5s are my term for combinations of M1s and M0s, like a M0 Railgun/M1 Hornet or M1 Smoky/M0 Hornet, for example.
