Why are the item upgrades too pricey?

All in the tittle.. Not only  are they soooo expensive, but you have to be a really high level to be able to buy them anyways! I used to play tanki a while ago on a different actount.. and all the prices were low and it was easy to upgrade a weapon.. Now its like 10,000  crystals to even upgrade your weapon to TIER 1!!! Can someone please explain this too me? Im really confused... :/ Because the ingame funds are still low like usual now all the weapons and items are overpriced to the max... I might of missed out a big patch, Notice or and update. so someone please clarify this to me :)

In December 2012 there was something called the Re-balance, where all the weapons were equalized, and the game-play was made a lot more fair. The economy has also changed, roughly adding a zero everywhere. So previous 50 crystals battle funds are now 500, etc. I would say that the prices are quite accurate, because otherwise even if you have enough to upgrade your weapons, your rank will not allow it. Now a soon as you reach the adequate rank, you reach the adequate rank, your crystals are somewhere close to what you need.

I suggest focusing on upgrading only one turret and hull (pick your favorite); that way you can keep up with the crystals. Read Eleven tips to win every time by

The higher you get, the more crystals you earn - but the prices also get quite steep. Tanki requires hard work and patience, and if you don't have that, you can always donate - I'm sure the devs will be happy.

Sure, I can explain it to you. You didn't miss out on anything. It is as you said "Pricey".

The only way most young people can afford to play, anymore, is to make up an account, play until you rank up so high your weapon is useless. Then you make up another account and don't play the first one, but collect all the daily freebies until you have a good supply of power-ups (life paks, extra armor, etc). Play the first account occasionally, but not too much otherwise you will rank up faster than the crystals come to you (freebies and in game). Then you make up a third account, because by this time, your second has ranked up and you're still poor. Got the idea?

The only people who can afford to play this game are those with an unlimited amount of cash (ie: credit cards). It's a money maker, that's all.  Fortunately, this isn't the only tank game on the web.

Well - I haven't spent a dime on this game since I was WO1 pre-rebalance, and then I spent just $20.

Plenty of people playing without spending megabuck - or anything at all - without resorting to lurking below WO5.

That is so not true! I've never spent money on this game, and I've never used a second account to give myself extra crystals. As I said you have to play smart and not buy everything in the garage because you feel like it. I'm about to rank up, and I have enough to buy the next weapon which is only available at the next rank.

You don't need money to play this game, you don't need other accounts to play this game. You need skill and brains.

Fortunately, this isn't the only tank game on the web.

There are, like World of Tanks, but there is absolutely nothing with such dynamics, suspense, good balance, and active community.

That wasn't done by Bruce Lunga, but by SuperNick95. Also, it was x7 for the battle funds, not 10. So 50 crystals in battle fund is now 350.

Nick says at the top of the post: I've been asked many times how to earn more crystals, so here is a guide made by Bruce some months ago.

I also said "roughly" because I don't know the exact numbers. I'm sure he doesn't care exactly how much bigger the fund is.
