And when you get more points, you'll get crystals at the end of the game as your reward, so your rating is dependent on the number of crystals you have earned in your total career. It's also dependent on your d/l.

Wrong, i could join tanki as a new player right now, earn as many crystals and kill as many newbies as a please bcause i am a new player. And then when i become a higher rank i struggle to buy the weapons requried to play with those ranks so my rating goes down, even though i know i am a very good player, being a very good player does not mean you will be the richest, someone who has the best hull, or even the best rating, the rating is just an estimation of that but its not the real me.

 

Main reason my rating is so high is because i was crap when i was a lower rank (not afraid to admit that) now im really good, but the game has changed a lot since then, lots of buyers, lots of kits that makes my skills useless in the precense of buyers and freaken druggers, therefore my rating is quite sluggish, but i have managed to earn over 200k crystals at my time here and im pleased with that.
