Update 169 — Friends System

I realize the system is just a few days old, yet I see room for improvement to maximize it's potential.

 

First, links to battles in which friends play open in a browser. I play in stand alone Flash Player in which these links don't work. It would be nice if there was a way to make it work both ways.

 

Second, I play WITH or AGAINST the same people a lot. Not because we have contact, but because it just happened to be so. We don't speak the same language, but that's fine. Now the friend system comes in handy here, because I respect most of these players and being friends makes things easier.

 

Point is, if I make friends with these people it doesn't necessarily mean I will join their team. So, being a friend with someone might limit me in play because I send a mixed message when I join the other team. I just like to play with these people, they make interesting battles.

 

Wouldn't it be possible to select a reason when sending a friends request?! A few standard reasons as to why you want to be friends with them, and what they can expect from you as a friend.

As far as a reason for friend request, I don't think it's necessary. Just my opinion though. Since were not actual friends (in the full sense of the word) the reason is pretty plain. "I respect you" and "I like playing with you". I think it's pretty silly for someone to get offended if someone from their friend list joins the opposite teams. The reason I accept/make new friends is because I know that playing with them in the future will be fun/fair/challenging/exctiting etc. Of course you're always welcome to post your ideas in feedback.

By 'friends', do you mean referrals? If so, yes, we get points for their rank up. If you mean the new friends system, your question doesn't make sense, because there was no "used to" with the new friends system.

Do we get crystals from friends ranking up like we used to?

First of all, yes you are allowed to post with 24 size font, but please refrain if not necessary. Also, all caps are forbidden, refrain from that as well. As for your question, you still will get crystals from refferal friends, but not from friends when you're using the system from update 169.

We should be able to add people that offline too, and they would recieve the request when they come online. Like, there are many friends of mine that i don't know if they still play, or not... And if they accepted my request it would be really cool. And also mail them and such...

Concerning the 2nd part,,, its very easy,, look their names up on any of the 3 forums,, german, english or russian,,, and send him a pm.. use google translate , write a short message about your intentions and they will definitely understand you  :)

 

P.S: despite my rank i often play in high ranks NS games, and there are a few non english generallisimo's i really love playing with , they are the best tanki sportmen i've come across .. so i might be getting on that task as well :)  ... thanks for the idea

Honestly i like this update for once but i don't like where you have to click on their name then pick write in chat. Come on really? One thing you could update is wepons and hulls which i have some for you guys if your intrested?

Update 169 lets you keep your friends even closer than before!

 

 

Until this day, it was difficult to maintain friendly relations on the battlefield. We’ve come up with the Friends System in Tanki Online to let you keep in touch with your brothers in arms all the time.

 

On the upper bar you can see the Friends button. By clicking on it you open a menu that stores the names of all your friends as well as all the incoming and sent requests.

 

 

Please note that a player gets added to your friends list only after he or she confirms your request.

 

Another important addition is a player’s context menu that can be opened by left-clicking on a player’s nickname wherever you see it. You can use the same menu to send and accept friend requests. You will also find additional functions in the chat that allow you to copy a player’s nickname as well as send him or her a message. Experienced players can use "Ctrl + left click" combination to send a message to a specific player without using the context menu.

 

 

An indicator appears on "Friends" button when you receive a new incoming request or other player accepts yours to make sure you don’t miss anything important.

 

Friends system supports search. It allows you to send a request to a player whose name can’t be found in the chat or interface. To use search, open Friends menu and click on Sent Requests tab. Enter the player’s nickname, make sure that it was found in the data base and click on "Send" to create a new request.

 

Friends and Accepted Requests tabs also support search but it works only in the corresponding lists. Use it to quickly find a friend or a request.

If a player has already been added to your Friends List, his or her nickname will be highlighted in the battle statistics table, battle info and in the chat.

 

 

If your friend is in a battle, you will see a link to it in your Friends menu. Battles with your friends in them are always in the top of the list and show the number of friends in them. Currently nickname of your friend over his or her tank in the battle itself is not highlighted.

 

 

You don’t need a confirmation to delete someone from your friends list. If you decide to remove a friend, then you will be automatically removed from his or her list as well. Keep that in mind.

 

That’s it. Now, knowing everything about the Friends System, go to the game and find all your friends!

hi it's good but i hate the new update in tanki online because everything is expensive and if i buy a crystals it's not enough to buy what i want i miss the old tanki online miss it ... 

i'm very sad :(

i hope the staff fix this problem
