Don't have this hull yet. Want some opinions.

Is Hornet as fast as Wasp? I see both buzzing around at the same apparent speed with and without drugs. I know that by the numbers wasp is faster, but in practice is the difference even noticeable?

Why does no one with hornet seem to rotate their turret? I see a disproportionate number of Hornets aiming by turning THEIR ENTIRE TANK.

Is the skid/drift feature nice or annoying?

Almost as fast. Both are fast hulls, but Wasp is more ideal for evading attacks as it is faster and smaller.

I guess the only time when the difference is that noticeable is at the M2 stage. As for the turning the turret thing, I find that amusing and honestly cute at the same time  But I am pretty sure the player is to blame for that.

The drift can get really annoying, but skilled Hornet users reduce that weakness. Sure, it does not completely remove it, but we have to deal with what we have  :)

Here I thought Trom was going to be forever loyal. With the 'new' med and heavy buff, I even have more reason to not advocate Hornet...

I'm not serious about the game anymore. All I want is a light hull xD. And Hornet is a decent choice, it's stable and does go well with Railgun.

But ThunderWasp is unmatchable ;) :P

Hornet is less viable. It doesn't specialize particularly well in anything (it's not-slow, we get it), and has a worse HP:Max Speed ratio at M4 compared to all other hulls but Wasp. Wasp is more specialized in speed, and has more low-hp and high-speed attributes. Specifically, turret position and lack of drift. Sure, Hornet has stability, but srsly it's the second lightest and most good players (if there even are any) could easily punish any mistake a Hornet would make. Hornet has faster acceleration, but Wasp can overtake the Hornet easily in a drag race, and anyway a still wasp is a dead wasp.

Everything you say is true, and I agree completely. But Hornet is still a light hull :P

It is the cheaper of the two for a reason, however :P

And what do hunter, viking, dictator and titan specialize at then? According to this logic, wasp and mammoth ought to be the best hulls.

Viking specialises in stability, dictator specialises in getting gold boxes.:)

No, viking has an adequate mix of Health, Speed and turning ability but it isn't an hull that specialises in stability.

The hull that suits your statement more is hunter. I still insist that Viking is the most stable hull you can find in TO. (of course, setting aside the heavy hulls)

An adequate mix isn't a 'speciality'. And setting away the heavy hulls just won't do. That's like saying that hornet specializes in health setting aside the medium and heavy hulls.

But you think about the shape of Viking, it is flat and well balanced. It is meant to stay firm and stable on the ground while taking impact. Look at the Rico and twins users out there, most of them, I bet, pair the turrets with Viking. This is due to its ability to withstand the recoil effects (especially with Rico).

Doesn't matter. Heavy hulls take it better. It isn't a speciality. Now, do you get what my point is? Specialties DO NOT matter. Each hull has it's own pro's and con's and are to be used in different situations. You can expect to do very well with wasp in island, can you now?

I am just talking about the selling points of the hulls. Maybe some buy a particular hull for a specialty that suit very particular occasions, for example stealing flags with wasps.

Nah. The only hull which sells on the basis of a speciality is dictator. The rest of them are sold on how comfortable the player is with the particular hull and whether he/she has fun with it.

There are IMO two hulls that stand out from the crowd: Wasp and Dictator (both with rear mounted turrets)

- Wasp by it 's extraordinary manoeuvrability and topspeed (at quite some expense of armour and stability)

- Dictator by it 's shape, especially height (Goldbox, handling of weapons: but it 's shape is also a two-edged sword)

The other hulls are pretty similar, the notable differences are simply made by a certain mixture of speed and armour.

A really popular hull in tanki. Fits in really good with any kind of turret even shaft. A paint like Blacksmith would be best for Hornet & shaft users would be the best. Stands out really good at m1 modification and is the odd one out from m0 and m2.

9/10
