Is hornet m3 worth getting? Wasp seems to be better but unlocks later than hornet does.

Hornet is worth it.

 

Looking at your profile you play mostly Hunter and Hornet, which are more alike than

Hunter and Wasp are. Wasp is really different.

If that 's all you want: choose Wasp.

 

Your main turret is Thunder which I would prefer to mount on Hunter or Hornet,

some Tankers do use it with Wasp, but imo it 's not a very effective combo. (Wasp/Hammer is!)

Ricochet suits both Hunter and Hornet way better.

With Smoky it 's a matter of taste if you prefer Wasp or Hornet: for myself it 's clearly Hornet (Hunter).

 

Wasp/Rail is at the moment the ideal combo in XP/BP.

Pretty tough combo in regular battles though. Mostly light hull Railers have to drug (and do drug)

a lot to be successful or even survive.

 

With close-range turrets Wasp imo is better than Hornet, though you hardly use those...

 

So maybe Hornet? :)

thanks for the fast reply. How much better is wasp than hornet in XP/BP? ( I wanna start format battles and don't want to be outclassed with the wrong hull) Besides that, this seems to be a good reason to choose hornet. thanks

BP is a bit better, but it takes quite some experience to make that happen.

With Hornet you won 't be outclassed, don 't worry.

 

Another option is to get a Hornet, play regular and Format with it, get some mues on it etc.

At some point when you 've earned enough crystals you could still buy a Wasp that you

don 't have to micro-upgrade but only use for XP/BP.

I recently got this M3 on my alt  and I must say I am rather disappointed. I thought it would go good with everything, but the only logical combo I can find to me effective is Smoky/Hornet. And even then, too many Shafts and Twins and Ricos running around for this to even be worth it. Even then I find I must use supplies for myself to get a good K/D; something I never had to do with Viking M2. Any tips? Because this is a disappointment.

No tips, just keep on playing and be always 100% aware you got a darn weak hull.

Using speed and cover on the move is called for, but you 'll still be killed more than others: one of the reasons being

that every Tanker sees Hornets and Wasps as easy prey.

 

So make the best of the time you 're Hornet is alive, imo that means using DP.

On my alt @Smok-Ti-Thun I play almost only Hornet and also barely use repairkits, so it 's even harder to survive.

 

It can be done, that 's all I try to say and personally, putting aside the sometimes frustating fights you are almost

bound to loose, playing with a light hull is great fun!

 

That a medium hull is easier in use and often more effective: no discussion about that.

An "advantage" of Hornet is it 's weakness, no paint or micro-upgrade can fix this:

only you can, which imo eventually will make you a better Tanker. :)

You can't fit a hull, on a hull.

Anyway's; Hornet is a little dull once you've been playing with Wasp for longer.

 

 

Wasp is definitely better in stats, Way faster than Hornet.

And stability is something you can train.

Get Wasp.  :lol:

It really depends on opinion, but personally I prefer hornet over any other hull due to the fact that a good hornet can be very difficult to hit with rail (don't even mention shaft, 1 hit ko), and is excellent at getting up close and personal. It is far more stable than wasp such as in situations where wasp would definitely flip such as going diagonally off high places, where hornet would merely be unbalanced when landing. Yes, you can train stability, but "training" stability is simply the ability to predict if your hull is going to flip or not, and the stability along with superior hp and drifting of hornet has saved me many more times than the speed and maneuverability of wasp has. Also, when did wasp get more armor than hornet, I ask you?

wasp is better than hornet in speed, yet hornet has better armor. just take advantage of the fact that wasp is fast with no armor. if its so fast, a few tricks and turns  and you wont get hit. hornet skids on turns. use that. just find your own playing style. [but i do like hornet better.]

Hornet is my favorite haul, it can be used with all torrents but preferably I like it with rail. Hornet is a great haul for people that want speed but are still looking for a little more armor then wasp. I would recommend this haul to all tankers.  But really it comes down to personal preference, some people really just don't like the skid and for some they just like a heavier haul with more armor.

If you look at the m2 stats, wasp has just 2,5hp less and 11,85 speed compared to hornets 10.41. He didn't say wasp has more hp, but I would also sacrifice 2,5hp for that speed. I would say m2 wasp is better than hornet, but unlocking rank has a big part in that..

i just got hornet m2 and equiped with thuder i like it on bit maps where i can use my speed and my firepower into full effect; I just played polygon and came up on top with thunder hornet. And shuld i get thunder m2?  :huh:

Which is best m2 turret with m2 hornet?

I will buy stinger and then legend kit but I want something to take me to legend as isida won't last that long...maybe.

I like hornet because I can move around in it fast, but I think that it is still a light hull and is not very effective if for example you like diving into the center of a polygon cp. Also, I noticed that most people think rail is the best combo with hornet. Like I said, hornet is still a light hull and can be knocked out of the way easily by even a smoky, missing your shot. I usually use wasp with railgun because it doesn't drift, making your shot easier. All in all, I think hornet goes well with most things, but other hulls can sometimes better.

Hornet is really good, i think, it's most used hull. I use Hornet almost every time. It's fast, and normal armor. I use Hornet with all turrets.
