Shaft is a great gun that I prefer to use the Wasp with. Before you say anything, I have a few reasons why. One, it's obviously fast and easy to get to other places with. Second, I parkour with the Wasp to get to random places no one would expect to be sniped from. If all else fails and I die every two seconds, it's out with reasoning and in with an M1 Titan.

First of all thanks for creating a nice guide like that with lots of valuable information for beginners... :) Let me add some ideas and thoughts about the turret shaft from my experience. I have played with shaft for more than 1 and 1/2 years and it's still my favourite weapon in tanki. There are many things that you should consider if you want to wield the shaft in battles.

1) You should be patient- Patience is the key to success when you re playing with shaft. If you re not patient then give away your hopes on becoming a good shaft user. When using shaft you will many situations where many other players will call "boring" or something like that  since most of the time you are a camper destined to sit and wait in a single place to get the kills. If you feel the same i suggest you take on some kind of a weapon like Firebird or thunder which allows you to go to the frontline without any hesitation.

2) Know where you are fighting.- ALWAYS know the whereabouts of the map you are fighting in. This will help you find a good sniping spot most of the time. If you do have the time for it start a private battle and go explore the map that you want to play in and start looking for those places that will let you see the most of the enemies camp. Knowing the good sniping spots of a map is a SEVERE advantage you will gain among the other shaft users of your side  while playing.

3)Be wise when you're choosing your  target-  Always choose the hulls that can be easily 1-Shotted (for ex.Wasp and hornet) These will provide you with really easy kills. and when there are few targets to choose see whether there are any isidas among them. ALWAYS get the isida 1st when you get them. Being able to kill steal is really valuable for a shaft user too. I dont find any other weapon easy to kill steal with other than shaf in tanki :) .Knowing the HP of each hull in each M will help you alot too. If you have the time for it go to the garage and get yourself feeded with the HP of each hull. This will let you steal many kills from others since you will be knowing when to hit and 1shot the enemies to death.

I hope these three small tips will help you improve your shaft experience. Please feel free to provide me with your comments and ideas on my ideas . BTW i'm not a noob on using shaft I don't want to call myself a PRO either but i do have an account with a M2 shaft and a M2 Mammoth :)

Wow good job!

I think that's the most important part about shaft is being patient.

yep,if you dont have patience take another weapon

the most annoying is when you are full charged and dont see any tank coming in the next minute, that is pretty annoying, lol

And then when you finally decide to move your spot and let go, a tank appears ))

That's why you need to be patient. :)

So true ! Hate when that happens. Annoyed me so much that I left the turret at m1, though it got me through my noob ranks.

i use shaft quite a bit and i often play in silence CTFs and park at the end of the pipe (on the blue team) and then i get a lot of crystal drops and evberyso often i get a medipack fall directly onn my tank and health me up stopping me from dying.

I have shaft M0 and Mamoth M1 and im waiting for a weapon discount for shaft M1 (please tanki devs :-)

With the new stats for shaft,, I'm getting lead out, but i wouldn't use shaft in DM's. Plus Shaft gets weaker and weaker as it upgrades compared to Mammoth. Just look at the stats

The next update will certainly equalize the shaft with the rest of the turrets. after the physics upgrade shaft users will be able to deal the same damage they did in a REALLY LOW time of around 3-4 secs. Good bye wasp and hornet users :p We 're gonna OWN you :P

Shaft/Wasp: This is just begging for trouble. Shaft always needs a reasonable health bar to give it some leaning space while you aim at your target. Because you are always going to be singled out, you need to have at least 100 on your health bar.

This is a feat combo after the new physics:) you jut have to be skilled
