Buying items in garage

When I'm buying items in the garage some items, like mines, shows I can get, for example 15, for one low price of 50 crystals.  After purchasing I return to a battle to find my quanitiy increased by only 3.   What gives??  I'm encountering the same problem with other items as well.   Can someone please explain?   Thanks

For mines, nitro, double power and double armor it costs 50 crystals for just one item. The green number that says x10 or whatever is the amount of that power up that you currently have in your inventory.

Don't buy drugs for goodness' sakes. Either pick them up in the battle field or save them from Dailies. Unless you are a buyer or a Generalissimo, do not buy drugs. Or unless you work for Tanki (newspaper, etc.) because they get paid I hear. But do not buy drugs if you ain't paying real money. -_-
