Do the rules allow 1 word "pointless" posts?

 Share

Recommended Posts

Don't make topics to ask 1 question. You yourself aren't obeying the rules!

I don't think you have a right to say that. Spamming my PM, get banned on your main and alts, most of all flooding.

Anyway, I think this question should be asked on the Questions & Answers topic in the FAQ section.

I am not asking 1 question.

Please post your views on the topic subject,. the  rules should not allow 1 word "pointless" and 2 word "Pointless topic" posts by non mods.?

I am not going to enter into an argument with you.

This topic is for views and discussion, if not General section then Off - Topic Discussion.

The words "Pointless topic B) " is like a signature to me. I post them on every pointless topic. This allow the mods to know if the topic is pointless to everyone.

I'm sure the Mods can think for themselves. Either way it's their duty to read each post and decide how pointless it is.

Different people has different point of views. The mods might think the topic as pointless but could be useful to others.

I think if someone posts a topic in "off subject topics" it shouldn't be removed unless it is illegal (by law) subject matter, Or as long as it isn't offensive subject matter.   "Off Subject Topics Are Exactly what they say they are, "OFF Topic Subjects" (i.e. not directly related to "The Game"), A Forum should NOT be for mods to just make up Their OWN rules of what "THEY" deem relevant or not, Especially if there is a section dedicated to "OFF Topic" subject matter.
A forum is a place for a group that shares a common interest to gather and socialize, and to get to know each other, as well as help each other out with tips and advice. If you are going to dictate such rules and censor this "Forum" as bad as you are doing right now, then I ask you 1 question, Why do you call this a "Forum"?
If you are not going to allow it to be an actual "Forum", then it should be an alt. website for the game just to Report Problems, announce upcoming Events, FAQ's, and Rules ONLY, and allow Only Staff to communicate on it.
The way this is ran as of right now it is NOT a Forum. A whole lot of players are getting "banned and Scolded" for the most ridiculous of things, it would be in every single one of the players best interest (as it stands) to just remove themselves from it,
I am NOT a child, I am a very responsible 43 year Old Adult. I am no troublemaker and I obey the rules. I have been on here for a few months observing the way things are, (as well as spending a nice chunk of change on your site )  and I have been very disappointed by the way the Forum is dictated upon, especially for Off Topic Subject Matter. Like I said if you aren't going to allow it to Be a Forum, Then do not call it one.

hey bro, i agree 100% with you on the fact that the MODs can think for themselves, or they wouldnt have the resposibility of being a MOD, But in all fairness, in an "Off Topic" subject matter area of a TRUE "FORUM", Everyone SHOULD be entitled to their own Opinion on the posted subject matter. If The MOD's want to dictate what is posted and replied on in all of the other areas of the "Forum", then YES the MOD's has a duty to DECIDE at that point what is Relevant or Not and enforce that rule. But as I said earlier, In an "Off Topic" area, The MOD's should "MODERATE" NOT "DICTATE" Unless the post is Illegal "BY LAW" or is threatening or offensive to others. I have been a member of SEVERAL "Forums" and I have Never seen a FORUM so dictated upon such as this one.

In my humble opinion,

I think there is no final decision on this matter. Some moderators remove messages like that, others don't. We'll need to look into it.

Thank you for your decision to look into the large number of 1 word  "pointless"  and 2 word  "Pointless topic"  posts by non mods.

jamester69 Thank you for your above posts - please reread my edited OPs 1st post. :)

The 1 or 2 word  "pointless topic"  post problem is found on all forum sections.

It is not the duty of unappointed, unselected and unelected non mod forum members to check topics and decide how pointless a topic is.

As fool4krist said above " I'm sure the Mods can think for themselves."

In my humble opinion

I agree with you about any topic being allowed in off-topic, but for the most part I've seen Mods closing topics which really don't need to exist, or that are actually pointless. Examples:

A topic with a single question has no need for existence - therefore the Mod that closes it redirects to the Q&A topic.

A topic with just a screenie or a "hooray I got the goldbox" are also closed - the Mod redirects them to the "Cong. post" or "Goldbox" threads.

A topic with a problem that requires just an answer or two is closed as soon as it is answered - usually the Mod gives the final detailed answer before closing.

Rarely there is an actual pointless topic that does not warrant any discussion.

In my opinion everything is done correctly, but I might totally be missing something.

Besides, we're kinda getting a little off topic, because the discussion was about random users replying "pointless post" (which is a Mod's job) and therefore making pointless posts themselves.

Ahhh, I see what you are saying now, and I Completly agree with what you are saying, I Obviously "misread" what the point of the Topic was, The issues that I was replying on pertains to a completly different issue. I had an "off topic" subject that I Posted a couple of days ago that got DELETED, and its got me a little riled up, and I still havent seen any reason why it was deleted, it was posted in the "OFF SUBJECT" area. at any point, My apologies, I misread the whole point of the subject matter. forgive me im getting a little senile in my old age lol. I digress,

Freedom of speech, dude...freedom of speech...

90% of your 706 posts are 1 liners.

Please post your views on the topic subject,. do you think the rules  should not allow 1 word "pointless" and 2 word "pointless topic" posts   by non mods.

We are talking about posts by non mods that want to get topics closed, restricting freedom of speech, and may be against the rules.

fool4krist Thanks for your support B)

Umm... Shouldn't this be closed?

Am I understanding well? You are asking mods if they are allowed to close topics with putting a message which contains the word "pointless"??????

That's what I took it as, well

I Obviously "misread" what the point of the Topic was. It "appeared" as if it was regarding "mods deleting "off subject topic" posts. I had a post deleted that i made a few days ago for no reason. also i have been seeing players getting BANNED and Scolded for the most STUPID of things. Its almost as if it is "frowned upon" to even "post ANYTHING other than what CERTAIN MOD's feel is relevant, and THAT is Not Right and It DOES happen all the time, I guess this is an "Off Topic Subject" that I need to POST on myself. Again, Obviously I "misread" what the point of the Topic was,my apologies.
