Is my keyboard retarded?

I've been having a problem with gameplay, and I know it is because of my keyboard.  It's a real pain, especially when I am using twins.  Anyhow, when I am turning left while accelerating (up+left keys), my spacebar doesn't work.  It works when I move forward while turning right, however.  My computer is a Dell Inspiron laptop, with Windows 7 64-bit.  I know it isn't a problem with tanki, because the spacebar doesn't work when up+left are held on any other games.

Thanks, but I don't think that would be a good idea for me. lol. :D  When I use Hornet and Twins, I rely on stealth to get an advantage.

It's a hardware problem (so called "key ghosting"), you have to use a keyboard which is capable of processing enough number of simultaneously pressed keys.

Or just use the WASD keys.

I've heard of that, but I'm not convinced that the problem is key ghosting, because the space bar works when I hold Up+right.  It just doesn't work when I hold Up+left.  I believe it may have something to do with key shortcuts, or something like that.  Also, key ghosting was more likely to happen with old computers.  My laptop was made anywhere from 2009 to 2013.

Try using the WASD keys?

WASD keys work, the spacebar works fine while holding W+A or Up+A.  The only problem is that it's very hard to turn my turret while turning using the WASD keys, as it's hard to move my fingers in such a way.  There must be some problem to do with key shortcuts, because now I know for sure that the problem isn't key ghosting.  I'll try find a way to fix, and until then, I'll try getting used to the WASD keys.

All I know is that the spacebar doesn't work while holding up+left, left doesn't work while holding up+spacebar, and up doesn't work while holding left+spacebar.

I have the exact same computer and problem, and yes - it is key ghosting.

 

The only solution for me is driving backwards as though I'm driving forwards. You'll get used to i very fast, and you won't have to relearn to play tanki with WASD.
