Imagine all your posts voted down several times by people trying to be interesting. Cool?

Yeah, I have absolutely no problem with that. And besides, even if they downvoted just for fun, I wouldn't mind. People shouldn't be offended by a small, red box that has a "-5" in it or something.

It's not about being offended or not, it's about looking stupid and unnecessary.

But can't you click the box and see what players up or down voted your post? If you see a lot out trolls or immature players voting you down, other players would be able to see that too, and to them, as mod would look stupid, unless of course the post is actually stupid or unnecessary.

You made your point. Now let me try mine again.

Leave mods' work, leave trolls. Imagine someone coming here for the first time. Would it be great to see all mods' posts thumbed down?

He'll say 'hah noob mods' or 'hah, players trying to be cool by voting down mods'. In both cases, it doesn't look really nice.

Ok, for you. What about people working hard every day? Really nice to see their posts rated for no reason

"If you don't like the work that comes with the job, don't do the job."

I'm pretty sure that every staff member (consultant, reporter, etc.) applies to that position knowing that they will receive criticism. If they can't handle that, then why do the job?

Ok, for you. What about people working hard every day? Really nice to see their posts rated for no reason

How come people don't search my name and downvote all my posts/topics? Just because some people like to do that, I don't think that is going to be a major issue.

Criticism yes. But pointless criticism?

You don't lock topics, you don't get players banned. You aren't a 'bad guy'.

I repeated my point like 5 times and won't do it again.

Anyway, I don't get why we still keep arguing, as you see it was said the feature may be introduced someday.

So Husto is a "bad guy?" I agree with Bayern, but if you're too immature to concede a point, then I don't know why you're part of the staff.

but if you're too immature to concede a point

Was going to ask that.

As Kool said above, I edited the picture to show Bayern's 'what's the problem of having a -5 in all your posts'.

As for the 'bad guy' - yes, if you follow my example (what I said was players always think mods are bad)

At the end, repeating again - I support the idea of giving a try to the mods votes. No need to keep arguing about it.

-5's can make people feel bad. I mean, it's kind of cyber-bullying. I didn't like the voting system very much.

Shame on people who think they troll and vote down posts for no meaning.

It's kind of like cyber-bullying? Wow. Honestly, if someone is offended by a small, red box, they are clearly not over 16.

And also, what is your opinion on the community being ready? What will it have to do or not do?

Community being ready = community only upvoting mods' posts if the feature is returned. I'm sure that if this upvotes/downvotes for mods come back, and mods get a lot of downvotes, the feature will be removed again.

It's not about being offended or not, it's about looking stupid and unnecessary.

If you're immature enough to think you look stupid just because of a small -5 in the bottom right corner of your post, then you shouldn't be staff.

1. So basically, you're presuming that if this voting system is implemented, the mods will inevitably get downvoted. How about being upvoted? Are you saying that the mods are ridiculously unpopular that every post will be downvoted? If so, then maybe you should try to think about WHY that is the case and try to change something, because that sounds really bad to me, if there is that much of a negative feeling towards the mods!

2. You're putting words into this theoretical person's voice. In my opinion, I would say if I saw that that "Heh, the mods aren't very popular here, are they?" and wonder about the reason. You putting some hypothetical words into a hypothetical person's voice is the laziest form of arguing. Ever. My opinion is that if all the mods get -5 or something it just shows that the mods aren't very popular for whatever reason and that reason needs to be questioned and wondered about.

3. Why does Semyon allow his posts to be voted on if downvotes are as seriously detrimental to the mental health of staff members as you seem to make out?

Thanks for the compliment.

Well yes because it happened already.

Its not about getting offended but its about misusing the power.

Skit wasn't referring to anyone in particular... and so the question that should be posed is why mods were "inevitably downvoted"... Of course, you can put some of that down to trolls (and maybe ban such trolls from using the feature), but if it were reintroduced for mods, it would be turning a blind eye to assume that all downvotes mods would get would be the work of trolls.

It seems you're suggesting that anyone who disagreed with a mod by downvoting their post(s) was a troll - instead, you could ignore the downvotes made by known troll accounts, and then try to use this feature to examine legitimate down/upvotes and so see why players disagree, and what needs changing, as skit phrased it  ^_^

Avoiding the point, well played.

Anyway, I don't see the OP of this thread being downvoted to a negative amount. ;) And how can it happen already when the mods haven't been able to be voted on?

I was lazy to write 10 sentences, that's why I wrote a short one. Excuse me.

No comment since you'll start arguing again and we'll fill 1 more page.

Ok

Ability to vote up/vote down moderators' posts was removed due to numerous requests of some Russian mods.

it was disabled in the first place because people were disliking all the posts by moderators. Even those where it was obvious that the mod was right and helped people.

*ahem* Yes or no? If no, why not?  ^_^
