I think there should be a option to delete your topic or post as everytime you wanna get rid of something you have to edit and delete or if you post a topic and wanna close it you have to pm a mod or write topic closed and wait for them to do it somethings they don't even do it ive noticed in some places

Good, but there are flaws to the third point. What if someone gives genuine criticism, but the OP doesn't like it? They can't delete it - abusing the function.

no this is dumb. a person could make an offensive topic that breaks all rules someone says something he deletes it and doesn't get anything for it. currently mods can remove posts and topics if you have seen. i have observed that

1: you made it, why delete it

2: you posted it, why deleted it

3: absolutely no, total abuse will be done

I think not allowing users to delete what they post is good to let them put some thinking in it before hitting the Post button!

First 2:
No, you can make a profane topic or post and delete it before a mod sees it or delete a post that got a lot of dislikes.

Third one:
3 words.
Freedom. Of. Speech.
Being able to delete someone else's post would be abused for sure.

Feedback.

But, it could get out of hand, those who swear or post pics can just delete them before a mod gets to them.

But there would be an ability for the mods to see what used to be there, like edited posts (am I right about that?)

hmm it seems as it the 3rd one is very controvertial

all of you speak of power abuse but however some players know right and wrong and how to make the decent choice  they wont abuse it will be in a minority the majority of players would respect the rules if made and use its powers correctly

I don't really have a problem with mods closing topics... And I think if the function is implemented the forum will be one big mess, and the function will be abused.

PS: Forum Moderators won't be necessary anymore with this function implemented, so, no, just no.

http://feedback.tankionline.com/topic/211856-members-should-be-able-to-delete-their-own-posts-on-the-forum/

However it probably won't happen.

  1. Players aren't moderators, they don't need moderating powers
  2. Could be easily abused - I say something, you answer, then I delete my post and you look like an хххх
  3. You get banned, moderators post the ban log in your post, then you go and delete that post so noone knows you got banned
