Are you guys saying Fortress is a waste of money? We I think it is, especially compared to Bulldozer Kit. Bulldozer wins in every aspect, even if you have to wait extra ranks to get it.

im agree with some of ur article statments but as i said before u obviously dont play on ur alts much, like many other players , so when u want to judge between M2 fire/twins u compare Twins and Fire instead , while everyone has every m4s and everyone has all paints and everyone are skilled , in this situation all weapons have their own advantage , tactics are important and u should keep changing ur combo depend on ur enemy

but we are talkin abt a Productive kit that everyone can get score and cri with it fast and easily at low to mid ranks...

anyway its my personal opinion : best m2 kits combine are Atlas+Minotaur / Atlas+Vesuvius / Fortress+Minotaur

and why u guys compare fortress and bulldozer ?! fortress at the rank it unlocks can be very dangerous till major, while bulldozer and raiden are pretty useless without enough MUs, so u can simply buy fortress and then buy ant, medic or jackhammer and dont waste ur cri just for emerald...

No. It's a really effective kit to get at an early rank, the huge advantage from the kit is not only in normal battles but also in XP. Hence, it's fair to have a lower discount for it in my eyes - since players who can afford to get it already get a huge advantage from the kit itself anyways.

That's the point...

If 35% was so pathetic, it wouldn't have the level of demand that it does. The fact that with one of the lowest discounts of all kits it's still one of the most highly demanded (and I would assume one of the most highly purchased) seems to indicate that to shift demand to similar levels as that for other kits, an even lower discount would be suitable (basic microeconomics). The current discount is thus more than proportionate to the benefit gained from the kit, and hence it still remains popular thanks to a proportionately generous discount.

If I were you, I wouldn't complain - be happy that you have such a kit available early at the discount that it is.

As for there being a low discount for both Rail M3 kits, it seems to be coincidence in that both unlock high-powered equipment earlier than other kits do, which explains their high demand and lower discounts. I've bought Nomad myself - Hunter M3 and Raccoon are very effective pieces of equipment, and I would assume it's thanks to Hunter M3 (and thus the higher demand for the kit resulting from greater advantage the kit gives) that the discount for Nomad is also lower.

Again, you'll find Tanki are being pretty fair, if not more than fair. These more powerful kits (esp. for the ranks at which they unlock) having lower discounts is a good thing for the game, it means they aren't demanded too much relative to other kits/equipment. If the discounts were higher, we might be seeing too many of these high-powered kits in the game, potentially unbalancing gameplay. I would think the developers take these sorts of factors into account when deciding the sizes of kit discounts.

Sure, but Railgun M3 (a very effective weapon) can't be bought at the unlock rank and Prodigi (a very effective paint) definitely can't.

The kit remains unlocked for later ranks, true, but its effectiveness is really measured against the earliest rank at which it unlocks.

Of course, people can have differing opinions on the matter. However, that doesn't mean that the opinion that the discount is fair is no more supported than the opinion that it's unfair, as I demonstrated above.

Get over your emotions. The facts and figures indicate that the discount is, at the very least, reasonable.

I'm afraid I'll have to contradict you here. Railgun M3 is less powerful than you would like to think it is, and XP (and BP :/ ) retains the unfortunate distinction of being the only combo weak enough to merit its own format. Skill-based or not, it's quite evident that Railgun cannot hold its own against numerous weapons (including that of Paladin - Smoky is anathema for Railgun-users).

As for unlocks, while it is true that the 'Legend' kit unlocks relatively higher-ranked equipment earlier (especially compared to its counterpart, Boreas), the same is not true for Nomad. If I recall correctly, that unlocks at General. Guess what else unlocks at General? Railgun M3. So, all you're gaining an advantage from is the paint, Raccoon, and Hunter M3, both of which unlock at Field Marshal. Now it's entirely possible to argue on a tangent that Viking M3 is entirely superior to Hunter M3 and can easily replace it, but that's to be explored another day. Let's focus on the paint, Raccoon. I have to say, it's a decent paint, with protections from several common turrets. However, it is quite lacking in several departments. As a long range paint, it fails to be sufficient - the only good protection in that department is Railgun (and possibly Vulcan). Mid-range? You'll get torn apart by Ricochets and Smokies. Come any closer, and Firebirds, Freezes, and Twins will make short work of you. It is clear that Raccoon as no clear role as a paint, and thus only becomes useful in special occasions where those particular turrets are common.

Consider a few other kits that also unlock at General. Cardinal - you get three items early, and Picasso is an excellent long range paint which unlocks even later than Raccoon. Vandal - you also get three items early, and while Graffiti may be lackluster is certain protections (but definitely not looks, heh), it starts out with nigh invincibility to Vulcans, and with MUs, grant you significant protections from Shaft and Twins, and also is a Gissimo level paint. Both of these kits have a higher discount than the two Railgun-containing kits.

You're wrong, @GoldRock. Legend and Nomad do grant you an advantage, as with any kit. But their lower discount doesn't stem from a greater advantage granted.

You then may be inclined to ask, why the lower discount? The answer is simple. People adore Railgun. They'll pay anything to get it.

True, thunder m3 eats atleast 10 Mu steps. But it's worthwhile i think dragon-judgement, kirby2008, U_will_be_destroyed and Fc_bayernmunchen are a solid enough proof of that. Thunder m2 will serve no purpose after a few ranks...

The kits serve a similar purpose in a long run, buing fortress blocks out bulldozer. I wish i had gone for bulldozer while i had the chance, but i also thought the few ranks would matter. Now i don't use any part of the kit and i bought emerald anyway, since rustles wasn't specialised enough.

True, i haven't plaid firewall alt in a while, but i'm buying the kit on the alt i currently focus on @0dysseus soon.

I got a plan to b close range specialist on that account with ant, firewall jackhammer and freeze m3 propably during this year.

I'm consciously talking about battles where enemies have many turrets and paints. I personally like to choose my combos while thinking about the tough cituations they can face.

I personally think fire m2 isn a more needed gun in tough midrank battles, because all the twins m1s that are already doing the jobs of twins.

I also saw alot of twins/titan and minotaur combos while i did pro-battles on midranks back in the day, usually there were 1 to 2 twins in 1 arena cp alone... fire m2 used to be very needed for the diversity... The combo also did the capping thing better in pro-battles... in pro battles it ususally comes down to powerful attack, defence and isida work. Midfielding(the thing minotaur does the best) isn't as often  gamechanger in my perception(unless full midfield map: island or hill) You also don't get to live that long in many pro-battles, which worked for fire.

"kit that everyone can get score and cri with it fast and easily at low to mid rank" isn't something i would pick my m2 kits by, about every m2 kit does that in my experience.

What every kit doesn't do is win an equal, hard games, where "everyone has (some good) paints and everyone are skilled"

In normal battles low to mid ranks i had no issue scoring about 500 to 1k points in any 15 min battle with firewall, and i was not a drugger.

Allthough i do admit that twins could score better results, expesially with drugs, i stand behind my 1st post: "firewall unlocks a rank before, and is a bit cheaper. So if you can get it at it's unlocking rank you'll get a little more benefitial deal."

And i think that 1 rank, holhoma, those 20k, the capability in hard battles and the ability to still win pretty much any normal game make up for the performance difference in basic battles.

Btw: i hugely appreciate you staying ccc through this, i've had this kind of converation turn to flamewars too many times :)

About this, well those are all some seriously powerful paths to go through m2 ranks with kits.

If i was to say any others i'd say mosquito/northerner for long ranger, and the benefitial routes of skipping the heavy m2 kit and going for bulldozer instead and the path of getting a medium m2 kit and ant.

Or maybe just use osaka, siberian or stinger to get to the ranks for the op m2 kits and then fo straight for full m3 kit.

M2 ranks aren't really that hard to cope through with success, expesially if you get a kit or 2.

I think the wisest approach is to allways rush for m4 asap and base expensive purhases mostly on their long jevity use.

Very true, I must agree with greyat here. The discount given is purely just Tanki trying to make a profit. It's extremely annoying that both Rail M3 Kits have the equal lowest discounts in the game.

Hey guys, how's this for an OP product kit! I actually found someone using the old Heavy Tank M2 kit in a Kungur TDM I was playing (forget my siberian at the moment). Freaking Inferno paint at First Lieutenant (good thing my freeze was on his team :P )

I was hoping to buy Firewall on an alt. But... they didn't switch kits. Now my alt has ranked to First Lieut - a rank 'after' Firewall unlocks.

Now I'm thinking about switching up my alts. I have another Twins-Hunter alt I was getting prepped for Minotaur or Atlas. That alt is at Third Lieutenant about 75% of the way to Second Lieut. Swapping these will give me more equipment on both in the end and let me buy kits when they unlock, assuming the other M2 kits ever come back into the garage. I'm kinda uneasy about what will or will not happen when the kits are set to rotate next week, but that is another story.

In the meantime, I've brought my Isida alt Vampire_Medic back into play hoping to rank up and buy Stinger kit. The welcome back bonus was a week of Premium, so I'm going to grind away.

The other 'problem' with the kits not switching is that both my main and my alts are stockpiling crystals with nothing to spend them on. If only there were a sale coming...

Hey, I saw many questions about upcoming sale and kits, so: which kits will be on during possible may day sale? Check out here, what I do think will return:

(please note, it's just a prediction, devs can decide to give us something absolutelly different or won't give opportunity to buy kits during sale. So in case I'm wrong it's not my fault.)

I will be getting Boreas Kit. Would it be better to spend the remaining crystals on MUing the Freeze or the Wasp?

I'm crazy person and I would go for M4 wasp at major general . M4 freeze could be good too (I'm sure, many won't agree with me), but M3 is definetelly not enough.

forgot about my post, but it looks like I got some replies.

got a Warrant Officer 1 with nearly 49,000 crystals waiting for the other kit set to come out, had it been out already, I probably would have already bought Predator kit for it. however, I found that at Warrant Officer 2 it can get Siberian kit. since neither kits won't be available for a few more days, it will probably have enough crystals to buy either kit once they are available.

http://ratings.tankionline.com/en/user/RAG1NG_STORM/

its using Thunder M0 (15 MU), Viking M0 (17 MU), and Metallic (2 MU). also has Hornet M0 (19 MU).

so, which one should I get ?
Predator kit @50,325 crystals (-45%) Hunter M1, Thunder M1, Jaguar (23%freeze, 10%firebird, 5%thunder),

Siberian kit @63,400 crystals (-50%) Hunter M1, Freeze M2, Tundra (30%railgun, 10%smoky), or

something else - please say what it is

I can't speak for Predator, but Fighter is amazingly OP. You would probably do well with Predator since your current combo is Thunder/Viking. Don't get Siberian it's not worth it. Get Predator or Fighter, either one would be good for you.

not really planning to get twins on that account.

I do have this Warrant Officer 3 account though, it just ranked up:
http://ratings.tankionline.com/en/user/RAG1NG_FORCE/

its the "heavy hull" account so the weapons I intend to use with it are Shaft, Vulcan, or Twins.

as can be seen, it uses Titan M1 (9 MUs) and Shaft M1 (5 MUs - I so regret buying it, its fun on maps like Madness but its not really my style)

at 61,741 crystals, should I..

buy the Fighter kit (for Twins M1 early access - quite sure it won't use Hornet M1 most of the time),

rank it up to Warrant Officer 4 (need 26,500 exp more) to get Twins M1 and Hunter M1 (when they are discounted), or

something else - please say what it is.
