devs are not affraid like they actually give a dam what we think even if we give a idea if they like it put it up for debate for 1 month they forget about it gone.. its not likes its gonna go through is it now people complain their heads of about MU'S  nothing changed did it.. not even famous players are listened to >> like players from begining of tanki

also yeah if there is a cuss fight doing on they should be told to cut the arguement out and talk like civiised people not given a ban

Bans do change things. Different punishments have different effects on different people. Now, get ready folks, loki's famous story time: 

 

Imagine...back when it was late 2012, there was a guy in Tanki that thought, oh I could so swear in those chatrooms, why can't I do it in this game. He gets banned, then one day, Juliet arrives and looks for him, but he can't talk. So, Romeo was upset, and then when he heard that Juliet left Tanki forever...he gave up getting banned. 

 

Short story, but heart touching. Face it, this took 30 seconds. But, my point is, people look at things differently, not a single thing applies to everyone on Earth, except for probably being Homo Sapiens sapiens (Science lesson right there)

 

Developers do listen to our advices because we are what makes Tanki successful today. They try to merge their ideas, with ours, but sometimes, some of our ideas just seem too simple, and won't work for the game. Of course, everyone makes mistakes though, and respect that, since we're all human. 

 

Let's stop all discussions of bans, and all public discussions of moderator's activities. And I'm Canadian too...hopefully not an arrogant one at most times.

I understand not discussing bans, but what's wrong with constructively discussing the moderation system in general, without being insulting and without referring to specific mods (just yet)? That would clearly bring the forum closer to a place where freedom of speech is encouraged...

Why is "by-the-rules" and "boring" automatically synonymous in people's minds? I know plenty of Staff that are extremely entertaining people. Just because we have to maintain a certain amount of professionalism as Tanki's face doesn't make us boring :( I'm hurt.

They're not - I think it's more when staff members become over-defensive of the current system (which I'm sorry to say is clearly flawed) that annoys people, especially when all they have to say on controversial issues is to compliment the game/forum. This hasn't entirely happened to you, I don't think, but maybe you seem a little more... restricted, and a little more defensive of the staff. Don't know whether that's good ot bad in your case - either way, you're still a great guy, but it's the lack of self-criticism and self-analysis by the staff is what's annoying players at the moment.

 

To bring forwards a small example, when I was staff, I posted that the Russians were most likely going to win the Mister Tanki contest when it was announced, not in an insulting way but in a factual one, as the quality of their entries was likely to be better than ours; I was basically criticising the fact that all three communities were combined. Supposedly, this influenced other players to say the same, as they saw I was staff and listened to me... though I wasn't the first to point it out. Anyway, the moral of the story is I got reprimanded for doing that, so I can't blame you for being a little more restricted. Guess who won the Mister Tanki contest in the end (and 4th place wasn't a winning spot last time I checked)?

We can debate as long as we like - debating isn't against the rules while arguing is. This is a forum - you are allowed to voice out your opinions. Don't come to this thread if you have such a problem with us debating. Infact, don't come back to the forum if you have a problem - this is a forum; two people are bound to disagree. I'm getting a bit sick of you constantly talking about how nice discussions should be stopped.

 

I don't feel Arch has changed at all but JCar definitely has - and no lok, you're not arrogant.

Explanation

I don't understand why people keep telling me that. I haven't changed ever since I joined the forum, except I stopped flooding the game section  ^_^

 

Either I don't really care about where this game is going, or I know more than all of you what it's like to manage a community - but whatever the reason, I don't disagree with most of the updates and changes we are presented. When the MUs came out, I was as negative as anyone else, though in a polite way, and I never defended the MUs and never will. All the other things so far have not bothered me, and I honestly like the direction TO is heading.

 

Why people interpret that as me being all defensive, I don't understand. Just because as Staff I must represent Tanki doesn't mean I can't state my opinion, and I do so frequently.

 

I guess joining Staff in itself sheds a new light on a person, and there is nothing to be done about it. I am here because I genuinely want to help the community, giving much time and effort to it, and I'm sure 90% of my colleagues are here for the same reason. I just wish they were treated with the respect they deserve.

On Topic: I must admit that some staff members do indeed act very differently as staff members from beforehand, but I cannot see Arch acting that way, apart from the way he has stopped flooding the Forum Games section. Which is a very good thing IMO.

The point here is a very strong one, which I believe Semyon has allowed in a recent topic? I believe it is fair now for you to discuss constructively a moderators system without insult and referring to specific mods. That's fine. Could a Moderator confirm this to me?

I generally don't feel any of the staff members have changed since they became Reporter, with the exception of one reporter of whom started acting like a mini-mod before he became staff.

 

I feel the "alienation" thing $ore applies to the Forum/Chat Moderators and some of the Consultants.

Give as much feedback on moderation as you want. However stating what specific Staffers do, how they changed, how they aren't doing their jobs and that they should go play bingo - no.
