Why your opinion matters

Lately we’ve been getting more and more feedback from players about some issues. I’d like to express all my ideas here and announce something small but nice in the end. Let’s start.

Freedom of speech. Constructive criticism is always welcome. Showing anger, insulting game and its creators is not and will result in certain measures taken, up to warnings and finally, bans. Negative doesn’t necessarily means bad. Negative comments on MUs resulted in a major rethink of the whole system. Many complaints about the team kick will most likely result in it being disabled or adjusted. Physics update that got many comments from members of the community is not an exclusion. It resulted in the group of English play testers that work directly with Hazel-Rah and make physics better for all of you.

Bans. Do not break the rules and you won’t get banned. Of course sometimes it is difficult to see what breaks some rule and what doesn’t but we are doing our best to find this edge and tell all the players where it is. Do not be afraid to complain or ask. We are here for you, not the other way around.

Fun. In a recently made topic an interesting issue was raised. Generally it’s about the fact that the forum is not as lively as it used to be. The thing is that our community gets bigger, newcomers arrive every day. The more people we have, the more threads and comments are made. The more content we have, the more important the rules become. Following them is a vital thing and there are problems on both sides. Moderators make mistakes sometimes and close topics that could stay open without causing any harm. On the other hand, players basically kill genuinely interesting discussions by going off-topic and starting to create chaos. And here I’d like to say that unlike our little trolls, I don’t think that chaos is fun. And we can have fun without breaking any of the rules.

Now about that small thing that I promised. At the end of this month we’ll start a topic where the community will be able to choose the best assistant of administration in each group (chat moderators, forum moderators, consultants, reporters). It will be just a first try and if we see that the community is mature enough for things like that (there won’t be discussion of moderation, insults, threats, etc.), it will become regular.

Victoria (community manager responsible for all the administration helpers) and I discussing the community's voting on best assistants.

So what we need to do is work together (players, moderators, community manager, everyone) and make this forum a better place. Following the rules is not that difficult and there is no need to be afraid of them. Just be constructive, share your ideas and of course be polite. And things will get even better.

Major re-think of the whole system or MU's eh. And so Physics updates are also getting edited a bit? Wonderful! :D

And for the voting: I vote either Splitterpoint or IceRugby.

Yes, really major. But I can't say what it will be as if I say and it doesn't happen, you will eat me, won't you?

Eat? Nooo. Destroy? Maybe. :D But I don't want to get banned for attempted-Digestion.

Maybe you can give us some hints about the new, Re-modeled MU's. . . . I don't mind if they don't come true. Just need some hints about what it's going to be like.

There my friends, is the quote of the day :D

Why my opinion matters? Hell, I can't say my opinions without getting banned.

You are more than free to share your opinion of things, however you must do it in the right way. Obviously profanity and insults are not allowed. "Public" discussion of moderator's actions is also not allowed. That doesn't mean you can't discuss, you simply can't do it publicly. PM a moderator to discuss any concerns you may have.

And we can have fun without breaking any of the rules.

I'm here for 2 years, have been in other forums aswell before. I've pushed my head many times, trying to understand why people break rules. And I still can't get it, maybe I'm not intelligent enough, or breaking rules is really as pointless as I think it is...

Insults, swearing, etc. - let's say when you have difficulties in your life, bad things happening, bad people doing stuff that makes your life hard - of course, sometimes you need to shout or swear, to take the energy out of you so you won't explode.

But well, that's real life, real problems. What about Tanki, chat and forum? What are those extremely terible things that can happen here to make you insult someone? Someone won your battle. So? It was your fault that you weren't good enough/didn't have drugs/lagged/computer fell off the table. Someone laughed at you, thinks you're a noob - so? Just ignore him. Swearing or insulting him isn't worth it - it will change nothing. Plus you'll get a ban.

Discussing mods, admins, bans, rules - it was said before - you can't discuss mods' or any other staff's actions in public. Ask them in PM/Skype, etc - sure, even argue with them - do it, if you have a reason. You have complaints against some staff/you got an unfair ban - send them to the respective admin. If you're afraid he'll support 'his guys' and ignore you - then write to Semyon. You want to change the rules - they're written by lawyers and include legal stuff and terms. Staff can't do anything about it - we're just volunteers who work in chat/forum. If you have complaints against the rules - again PM Semyon. If needed he'll discuss it with other devs and make a decision.

Mods/other staff violating rules, taking wrong decisions - staff groups have their own rules, we read and agree with them the day we get appointed. Breaking them or the general game rules can lead to getting kicked from the position/blocked. All our actions are logged and can be easily checked by devs. Usually if some staffer breaks game rules or his staff group's codex, this will be soon spotted by the administration and he'll be punished.

Still, if you feel someone from the staff doesn't do his job well and needs to be removed - same as with the bans - PM staff group's admin, if you don't trust him - write to Mr.Kirov.

Trolling - tell me, what's the point? Can be funny once or twice..but when you do it every day of course you'll get a ban.

Back to my question, what's the point? Pissing people off - fun? Where exactly is the fun? Flae99, flae9999, flaeblabla - guys, don't you get it? You troll and get a ban. Then you make an alt and troll again. We ban it again. You make a new one - gets banned again. Instead of messing with the forum whole day go eat something, meet friends, meet the real life...

Some troll who recently, of course, got banned, made a topic saying 'WE WILL RULE THE FORUM BE PREPARED THATS A WARNING' - Dear Player, I'm sorry to break your dreams but this just won't happen. You'll keep making alts which will get permanent bans the same day, endless circle. Is that what your life has to be? Stop breaking rules, start being normal, talk, discuss and have fun like most of the forum members.

The main hint that should be done is:

Stop hiding rules. You have a rule section. You don't even put the rules there. That's how the rules get broken.

As for his is Tanki starting to sound more like a company saying all this or is it me

You say we can have fun without breaking rules -_-

I tried to have fun with my alt WITHOUT breaking any rules and got banned for a week. I explained the situation and requested to get unbanned.

And the reply I got was awesome "Read Rules"
