Feedback on staff

Before everything I'm a normal player.

I thought so too when I was staff, but then I got banned for 'not acting as a proper staff member', even though I broke no forum rules.

Anyway, you still have to act with more professionalism than most - you may be a normal player, but you are also a role model for the community. Should I follow the example you set, and block all my PM conversations without explanation just before I go to sleep, then?

And ignoring someone on PM breaks it? Sorry to hear.

Yes, it does actually affect mod's reputations (e.g. the view of which mods players consider as more friendly towards them). I'm glad you're sorry to hear that.

I like answering as fast as I can, not telling people 'wait for tomorrow' - so when I saw you in the homepage, your profile saying 'Using Personal Messenger', I knew you're writing to me. So instead of waiting for your reply again, then telling you I have to go, etc., I just decided to not let you reply at all, till now :)

Well, you at least could have said 'Blocking your messages for now since I need to sleep, talk tomorrow' and then blocked me, so that when my message failed to send I wouldn't have to guess why you'd done so...

In any case, it's not a case of answering as fast as you can; it's a case of courtesy. People usually say 'I have to go now, bye' to round off conversations, and so to not leave the other person guessing as to why they aren't responding. As a Consultant, surely you have just enough time for a polite goodbye?

Doubt that. I bet even if I did that, you'd still come here and say 'I pmed a mod and while we were discussing an argument, at one point he just said 'I need to go' and left me, how unprofessional'.

But of course now I can't be sure.

Look, I'm not going to criticise a mod for having to leave, that would be plain stupid... So your guess was wrong. I don't enjoy spending my free time picking faults in the mods, I simply wished to give some feedback. That's like someone saying they blocked someone, because they 'predicted' that person was going to insult them, or that someone reported someone else because they 'predicted' he was going to start hacking...

Sure, you can continue now.

Good, thanks :)

At the end, I don't really get why you got offended/got the impression that mods shouldn't block people on PM [and actually most of us don't since it's part of our job. But ignoring someone temporarily - happens]

So you don't really know why it's wrong, yet you avoid doing so anyway as part of your job? If it isn't wrong to block people as you say, why avoid doing so? Just block anyone you like without explanation, then - I'm sure players' thoughts of you will be unaffected, of course(!)

If even today you still can't PM me (meaning I lied) - then it's a problem. But you can - you're free to continue. ^_^

We may disagree on a number of things, but you're not a liar. Thanks ^_^

We both know why you don't like me [now], however let's not say it since it will cause more arguing...

Well then you're wrong, I never disliked you as a person and I never will. As I said, this is purely related to your job... So why bring personal relations into this? In short, I don't 'dislike' or 'hate' any mod, since they are simply doing their jobs; I'm just providing feedback.

I personally feel very comfortable & at ease with approaching certain positive mods here :)

they are friendly, polite & very well mannered but sadly others do seem to be unapproachable, cold & extremely clinical.

To summarise, I like all staff because without them the forums would be boring and full of profanity, seymon should be happy some staff like reporters and stuff don't get paid money . They so it because they love the community.

I do however say that mods can improve by being more responsive and proactive in their findings in the forum . All mods are admired by everyone .

I just hope there are more staff as funny and as cool and FBI , who is sometimes too formal and Husto who is a very happy person and always makes me and the players happy too

There is nothing wrong with being formal.

Of course there isn't, in general. However, one can become distanced and cold - that is when formality crosses the line a little.

Dear players.

We thank you for providing the necessary feedback. This topis is closed for now as we need time to implement many of earlier mentioned ideas.

On our side, we'd like to tell that staff does its best to improve the quality of their work, both by using your feedback and thanks to work of admins. This concerns all the staff groups.

Many things have already been implemented, admins further develop and add new guidelines for their groups to make the work as efficient as possible.

We've done a lot and a lot remains to be done in the future. If you ever get unfair bans or see topics closed without explanation, just send a link to one of the admins, depending on what issue you want to report. If you are not satisfied with the admin's response, contact a community manager. Our goal is to minimize these cases.

As I said many times, staff are people that dedicate their time and energy to helping this game without getting paid, they are volunteers that help you every day. For that I respect them and hope that you do as well.
