I'm finding that I'm constantly being blown up by lower ranked players with the same or smaller tanks than me. I have to take 3 or 4 shots with a rail gun to kill them where as a wasp with a rail gun can take me out with 1 shot!!!

Hmm, maybe you're not playing your best. Try working on your aim (if you use Railgun, practise knocking other people's tanks to redirect their shot, etc.).

it doesnt depend on the size of then rank but on what M it is, so how many HP it has, plus what kind of paint he got :D and if he can take you out with one shot, that means either your hornet is M0 where he has m1 rail, or M1 hornet where he has M2 rail :D

_May be you have some lag ( easy way to find it , try to collect supply or crystal , if u unable to collect that that means u are in frequent lag )

_try to play hide & shoot mode

_you have m2 rail gun?

_is your paint rail gun protected or they have better rail gun protective paints

_as your rank its create some depression that enemy are stronger than you , specially isida is more irritating   (  its happen with me also )

Don't worry! Maybe your opponent has protection paints! Get your railgun M1,2,3 And improve your skills!

Lots of reasons as in previous posts + rail is long distance and in the bigger maps you can not always easily see if drugs are being used - armour for example. Also remember a paint like Tundra gives good protection against rail.  Skill will solve most problems + get crafty, (tactics). :)

My favourite is the shaft but it moves sooooooo sloooooow that if an enemy gets close then you can pretty much say goodbye to any chance of fighting them off. This is an issue I think the tech people should improve. Also, why oh why are improvements so exspensive? Oh yes, to make money. ;)

 I was in a battle last night against two players with lots of red stars in their ranks and I just sat there and got taken out time and time again without even shooting back and I was in an M1 Titan. :(
