How do you make friends

In some points, you're correct. However, this bit:

"He's also going around insulting others for no reason - you don't even need to provoke him."

...reminds me more of how certain people are treating him on the forums, than it does of his own character.

How is calling him a fatty (considering his size is something he confided in us about in order to receive advice) going to help him contructively improve in any way? I don't think telling him that he's arrogant will either... You've told him what he's done wrong, so there's really no reason to continue to criticise him, whether he has accepted your advice or not. Criticism needs to be constructive, not destructive.

(EDIT) Wow, it's finally happened - me versus Remaine in a debate scenario. I wonder how this'll turn out? :P

Bear in mind it wasn't actually me that said that - I acknowledge that wouldn't help constructively improve and that was totally uncalled for. Then again, we know who said that and you just know you'd expect something as mean as that. I'm aware that was pretty cold. I think those pathetic insults need to be disregarded because you know and I know that won't help him. But go to the people that do try to help him. When criticising someone, you're not exactly supposed to sugarcoat it. I'm, like everyone else who is trying to tell him what to do to get more friends, which he seems to want, when critiquing him, should just say it how it is otherwise the point gets lost in pretentiousness. When I told him what he does wrong (and this is on the "If you could hear what people [honestly] thought of you" thread which is the EXACT place you're supposed to criticise others. One of the thing I said is that you shouldn't go around insulting people for no reason, an example of when he did this was in the Counter Strike thread, saying the team wasn't very good with no backup to support that statement - that's come out of arrogance. I'd prefer it if he at least acknowledges it, but no, he starts bringing up my rank, my "under-par" garage and his "awesome" garage and he also said that insult was "advise". He actually implied that, because I'm a lower rank, my advice was INVALID. That is ignorance. You actually saw all of that, didn't you?

Sugarcoating it's only gonna make him think the negative traits he's got aren't as bad as they really are and I feel it's necessary to continue telling him about this negative trait until he at least acknowledges to having it rather than him constantly swaying the conversation to my garage every time I try to help.

You may think sugarcoating is better for him but as you know, I'm a very critical person so you can only expect me to have such a viewpoint.

If I wasn't on main I would say something  :)

Go on BSD2 or 3?

Yes, I agree with everything you've said. However:

And you're very good at being arrogant.

Was such a comment really that helpful? I get what you're saying about criticism not needing to be sugarcoated, but it should be generally polite, too.

That comment was out of spite because of what he said previously. That should also be disregarded.

Thing is, he's tried to offer some criticism, so you should probably try to take what he's said into account, too :)

If you are called weird like I am that is good because you know you are being yourself. To make friends be yourself. Not that hard to do. I am always acting like myself and people are fine with it. If not idc lol. Just be nice and you will make friends

How do you make friends in real life and what can I do as a selfless person to try to achieve good or any friends.

By the way I'm fat and very ugly so I need advise while I burst in to tears

Mods don't lock this it's a new topic and one everyone including me can take advise from

Pfft :D

All tho, he's got a point. This game is to build up community so if a mod locks this topic any time soon then that'll be ruining community basically.

You can continue to be a selfless person no matter what life throws at you, and no matter what others may say to convince you otherwise. I do not know your age, but do know if you are mature enough to recognize your selflessness, then with the passing of time others will also recognize that quality. Some may envy this in you, while others will take-up on your good example..."Is that not friendship?"  :)

Youu must have been too friendly ziaekzlz, you've just been banned for one week. Don't do too much jokes and try not to be mean, that always end up as trolling/flaming.

See you!
