u are right. but whether he is kid or not, u cant tell someone not to hate their country, i find soooo many reasons why india is dislikable,

1. ultimate corruption: compare this to other countries, they also might be corrupt but most are not as bad as india. i live in aus and corruption here is very less. u hear many cases of * and * and lots of protests still nothing is done about it. most people say we are corrupt ourselves, but that is not even a proper comparison. that is comparing an individual against a whole group of them (called government). such governments should only be compared with other governments and india is on the slightly lower side of corruption. i think the reason for this is that standard of living is much different from those in other countries

2. people are not very nice: if u ask a random person on the street for directions, 25% of the time they will give a look of scorn towards u. this is very different in some countries, as the people are ever-ready to help each other. in this point actually indians are not so bad but still...

3. no. of poor people. this is really bad in india. most people who go to india see the beautiful side of it, but unfortunately in other remote areas of the country, the condition is terrible.

but even with all of this we must still be patriotic to our country becuz it IS our country. and we must respect that.

but i wouldn't argue with people who say they dont like n=india

the good side is: multi cultural country, great variety of food, languages etc. vast country, huge coastline, home for many species of animals and plants. great history.
