Why are TO updates so damn slow?

Recommended Posts

Lately I've experienced a lot about programming and checked out a lot of tutorials about blender. For TO it takes months to make an update, but why? What's slowing them down? I mean there are many of them working on different things so the updates by my calculations should take weeks not months! I mean, there are people, who can make a whole new map, with the best quality within one hour time! What's slowing them down?! I don't get it!

I wonder how long it took to make the new graphic tank. I suppose it'd take just few hours for one person to make it and program it to move (blender includes some movement too, as I've researched). Why is this going so damn slow?!

Making a map is one thing, reprogramming the whole physics model, trying different options etc. is completely different.

The thing is, how will topic like this help the updates to come out faster

This

Also, they`re testing and re-testing all these updates to be sure they`re working perfectly and are having no bug

I am not here to help, but to find out. Why do you think I was asking all those questions?

Wait, are you saying they are reprogramming and not programming on the game's code? All right then, well what about the new graphics, they seem easy to make within a time, so why is there a delay?

they are still working on the physics they will be in the game sometime after November 15th if everything goes well be pationent  :)

Remember this: I hate being kept waiting -__-

And everybody, "damn" is not a bad word. If you consider that a bad word, then you must be a two year old. People use it everywhere and there's a player with a nick like that so what r u complaining about?

Reprogramming some parts, and maybe programming new ones - I'm not a specialist, but I think you can get what I mean.

What I can add to that is, if you think you can be faster - please, good luck :)

Seriously? You expect me to work for Alternativa or what? I couldn't either way...

If you just read a programming page on Wikipedia, that's not experienced in programming. It takes time to program, getting what the programmers think is the perfect code. But the first attempy usually isn't. It usually has little errors or bugs. Or, there are overcomplicated pieces of code, which might slow things down. They spend hours, days, months, trying to test the new tank or whatever. Be patient. I would rather have a excellent update, without any errors or bugs, than an update with errors or bugs.
