Results [Issue 18] Double Stanza Winners!

After nearly a month of laborious writing, and nearly a hundred submitted entries, the contest had come to an end. A lot more great entries were submitted than I had expected, so picking wasn't easy, but at last we've chosen the best poets out there. Kudos to you guys, you deserve every crystal!

My friend, aurum potestas est,

Gold is power; but also much more,
A moment of chaos, a frenzied contest,
A dismissal of trivial score.
 
A blood-chilling shriek,
The siren of hope!
Agile and sleek
I charge down a slope…
 
Eluding a Freeze,
I weave through its domain,
Dodging with ease,
Victims bound in icy chains…
 
Up above! I suddenly start,
But too late; I hear a whine,
My wretched tank blasts apart,
A moment frozen in time.

The smell of the battle

loomed overhead

The score remaining

hangs on by a thread

 

Ninety seven flags captured

Top score's seven grand

I shake in my tank

Will I be able to withstand?

 

Just an hour ago

I was in control

But wait, what's that

Soon drops the gold?

 

My heart pounds, though my drugs hold

I stand in a place, set alone

And down drops the gold, shining bright

Looks like I'm getting m2 tonight

A Halloween Night

 

Treading softly on it's wheels,

My Tank cuts through the Darkest Night.

Teaching the enemy how it feels,

To celebrate Halloween with me to-night.

 

The ghosts and pumpkins creep

Them out ; as I drive towards my target - The Flag;

Seeing me they hide and weep,

As I reach the pumpkin atop a rag.

 

I go towards my side 'cross the bridge,

With numerous tanks striving for my blood.

I hide behind the mountain ridge,

Telling my foes - in the chat – To eat mud!

 

That is when It drained the life off me; a Thunder,

I was disconcerted 'bout my defeat;

I bet I wouldn't have made this blunder,

If it weren't for my dratted conceit!

I joined the forum a while ago,

'Twas not a pretty sight.

No decent discussion to be found,

Nothing seems quite right.

 

So many topics are now locked

Oh, where's the fun all gone?

The mods don't seem joyful at all,

Yep, the fun here's stopped.

 

I'll try to bring the slightest change,

But that won't go down well,

I'll end up losing this account

A ban, a block? To hell!

 

I see a member ask for help,

But no one gives a damn.

The mods are busy with this or that,

That's our forum - "bore and spam".

 

 

The Fail Robbery!

Isida at the counter, was counting the crystals,

Three mammoths arrived with some weird kind of pistols.

'Don't try to act smart' said the mammoth with a mask,

'If you want to live, then complete the task'.

 

Isida was scared, she started filling their suitcase,

Suddenly Super Rico arrived, who had arrived from space.

The Mammoths were left with a feeling of despair,

They started reciting their lord's prayer.

 

One mammoth fainted, The other two tried to run,

'Get ready for fun' said Super Rico with his stun gun.

The mammoths begged 'We're sorry! Please be kind'

'NO!' said Rico with a smile looking unkind.

 

Soon the police arrived, 'Great Job' said officer Semyon

'After many tries we caught them, YES! we won',

And the punishment they got was very harsh,

Their turrets were chopped off and sent to Mars.
