We said most of the posts on religion here have been respectful, and in the context of evolution...

 

Just because there are a couple of posts which are disrespectful and off-topic, why d'you need to ban the discussion of religion here altogether? Why not just remove the posts you have linked to, and allow us to continue our discussion? Surely you are here to encourage discussion? Up until this point, the posts here on religion have been allowed, as long as they are respectful. Can it not stay that way? Thanks :)

 

P.S. Let us continue this discussion in our PM conversation, to avoid going off-topic here. I request that you temporarily re-allow religion-related posts in this topic (so long as they are courteous and on-topic) whilst we hold such a discussion, if possible.

I completely agree. However, why don't you put out those matchsticks by deleting those two inappropriate posts before the flames can spread? That's a lot easier than just taking the privilege for us to discuss a certain topic away from us altogether.

 

Yes; this is why I think that we should be allowed to discuss religion as long as our posts are respectful and in the context of evolution, rather than banning the discussion of religion here altogether.

I think you have made a mistake here, (I am so sorry to point this out, and i really hope no one from the moderating community will get offended by my post)!!!

 

It is a fascinating thing to see how people can be so blind when it comes to religions, some are here allowed to state and quote their holy books without any hindrance while others are getting warnings for stating a true fact.

Have a look here it has all the politically_incorrect_ religious_strings attached to it but  still allowed to be public without any warnings.

 

If religion is off limits for one then it should be off limits to everyone in all formats (mild, medium or hard expressions), because first someone comes up with his mild religious point of view, which has the potential to offend another one's believes and then this other guy posts his point of view to counter the first idea and then this goes on for centuries.

1. The perfection of the human body evolved over millions of years, from a simple life form to a more complex one. Same with science - it 'developed' over the course of evolution. Look at modern technology - how does one explain the apparent perfection of one of the world's few supercomputers? Because they were developed from the basics upwards.

 

2. Could you expand on what you mean specifically by this question?

"Macroevolution is evolution on a scale of separated gene pools. Macroevolutionary studies focus on change that occurs at or above the level of species, in contrast with microevolution, which refers to smaller evolutionary changes (typically described as changes in allele frequencies) within a species or population. Contrary to claims by creationists, macro and microevolution describe fundamentally identical processes on different time scales."

 

The sources for that last sentence include various well-supported books by scientists on the matter.

 

Therefore, both types of evolution actually work under the same concepts.

Macroevolution is out of the question, even downright ridiculous. Everyone has their own definition of science, but the real meaning of science is to study God's creation. Everything that scientists have found has pointed towards the proving of the existence of God. Microevolution makes sense, we call it adapting nowadays. But man evolving from monkeys, now there is the problem. How can an animal, that has no ability to think or reason, develop a will, an intellect, or the ability to think and reason, even speak? Nobody has a good answer for that. God, therefore, must have created man with the ability to think, reason, speak and have a will. You my friend, have NOT presented any legitimate argument for your opinion. What reasonable proof have you shown or any one else for that matter. All I have seen so far is the regurgitation of what has been adopted by most modern education systems and that is the THEORY (look up the word) of evolution. People don't want there to be a God because if there is then you know you will have to be accountable to him for your actions.  It seems that you blindly believe people have blind devotion. I used to believe the same as you do, Then I actually looked into these matters and came to MY own conclusions instead of blindly believing what some one else who does not believe in creationism or God has taught me in school. I don't mind if you don't agree with me but show me why you don't.

 

Now if you would please try to continue in a respectful manner and contribute to your opinion on the subject, I would like to hear it. But if you are going to just throw out accusations of "illness" for which there is no cure then maybe this is not a conversation you should participate in.
