Update 208 — Micro-upgrades and crystals for ranks!

Hello, tankers!

 

As you already all know, micro-upgrades (or simply MUs) are ready and out. What are they like? Well, look for yourself, but before you do that, read the following text. We tried to use all the feedback we got from you and redesigned the system so that it does not disappoint you. Some facts about it can be found below.

 

* You can enter the menu of upgrades by clicking “Upgrade” next to a turret, a hull or a paint in your garage.

* Each next upgrade will give a smaller increase of a parameter and will cost more. Before you say something, remember that you don’t need to buy all the upgrades. This system allows you to get a significant increase of a parameter on the first steps. Last ones are for hardcore tankers that want to get a discount on the next modification.

* Each fully upgraded parameter of an item gives you a discount on the next modification. An overall discount cannot be higher than 70%.

* Discounts received from MUs and traditional discounts are summed up. For example, if you’ve fully upgraded your M1 Wasp, you get a 70% discount on M2. During a traditional 50% discount on Wasp, that 30% left gets divided by two and you can get an M2 Wasp at a 15% of its original price!

* Discounts on MUs are possible as well!

* Upgraded parameters won’t give you a huge advantage in a battle but will noticeably increase your chances of defeating an enemy of the same strength and skill.

* If someone has never heard of it or haven’t been to the test server, we've removed the chance of unsuccessful upgrades from the system. Now you will always get an increase after spending some of your crystals.

* There are two ways to complete an upgrade. You can either wait for a specified amount of time or complete the upgrade instantly for an additional fee.

BUT that’s not all!

 

You may complaint about MUs costing too much. Well we thought of that too. That is why, together with micro-upgrades, we are launching another important feature. Crystals for rank-ups. It means that with the each next rank you will be getting some crystals. Moreover, you will also get crystals for all the previous ranks you got. So, if you are a Generalissimo, a ton of crystals is coming your way!

A visual effect showing a rank-up has been added to the game. So, all players in the battle will see that you have received a new rank and will congratulate you with that.

 

Finally, our beloved no-supplies battles have been upgraded and are now called PRO battles. What's changed? First, PRO battles allow you to disable micro-upgrades. Second, you will be able to disable crystal drops and gold boxes which will make the battle fund grow faster.

YES! FIFTH POST :D

The micro upgrades are a great idea overall, but I would have liked to have seen the upgrades have more influence on the hull/turret/paint. You waste your crystals doing the last upgrades. And also why can't we micro upgrade paints to more than 50% protection? That would have been amazing.
