Micro-upgrades review by NBAHbI4 and ArchangeI

Good videos - thanks for taking the time to make them.

Some questions/comments:

1.  Why do the MUs become more expensive but less effective?  I don't understand the reasoning behind this.

2.  Is it worthwhile just concentrating on one pairing of turret and hull? In other words, don't spend anything on upgrades (micro or full) to any other configuration, but spend everything you earn on improving the set-up you've got.

3.  One of the main attractions of upgrading is to get a discount off the next full upgrade, but MUing paints doesn't give any form of discount off more advanced paints.  Is it worth doing?

You should wait to upgrade until you have m3 weapons and one of the expensive paints. Everything else will just cost you more crystals then it's worth it.

Railgun M1 costs 31.400 crystals. If you upgrade your M0 completely, it will cost 62.799 crystals and you get only 60% discount on M1. Thats is twice the price plus the 40% you still have to pay.

Railgun M3 costs 218.300 crystals. To upgrade it completly you have to spend 875.120 crystals. And speeding up is not included.

Wow - the maths really doesn't work does it?  Thanks for this.  I'll save my crystals!

for railgun m3, you actually only need to micro upgrade the damage, reload speed, and Penetrating power, the rest parameter are not that important in actual use.

so that is

damange: 262,561 cry

reload: 43,758

penetrating power: 175,041

so if you care about damange and reload most, then that is 305k crystal, not that bad,

if you want more kills in one shot, then that 305k+175k=480 k crystal, quite a bit.

only buyer who got extra crystal, they may upgrade everything;

same for hornet, if you just care about hornet's speed and acceleration, that is 205k+136k=341k total without speeding up button; not that bad

if you want the health as well (136k), that means almost 477k total,

True, you talk about m3 hulls and turrets. My point is just not to upgrade until you have m3 gear.

The discount you get, is too little compared to the price you pay.

The Micro upgrades on M0 Railgun cost:

- Damage 18.840 crystals

- Impact Force 18.840 crystals

- Reload Time 3.140 crystals

- Rotation Speed 9.419 crystals

- Penetrating Power 12.560 crystals

been away from the game for a while. came back to find micro upgrades. wont go into the pros and cons of micro upgrades under M3. thats for another post.

the micro upgrades are a massively expensive and devious introduction of M4. good points, you can upgrade your unit bit by bit over time. downpoint - the cost. 250,000 for one fully upgraded micro. expensive!

however. the cost isnt my axe to grind.

the main failing, and Tanki have missed an opportunity here to make the game more varied: is that the micro upgrades are rigid.

you have no choice how to upgrade your units. they can all be upgraded. this means its just another tier. at M3 level, effectively making it an M4. compared to the M2 to M3 upgrade, a hugely expensive one.

why,  didnt the devs make the micros more varied? i would have preferred a 50 upgrade max per unit (for example). yet you have the choice what you want to upgrade?

for example: i want to upgrade my mammoth. i have a max of 50 upgrades. i can choose what upgrade i want. i could, if i desired, upgrade only the speed of my mammoth 50 times. or i could upgrade my mammoths protection 50 times. this could go for power, turn speed etc. and translates to turrets and paints!

this would make a more varied game. there would be fast yet less protected hulls. a thunder that had a fast reload, yet lowe damage .or a thunder that had high damage but a slow reload etc. you could make an average, whatever!

the game would be more varied, more personal, less predictable....

perhaps its because the micros are yet another game change aimed at making money, rather than making a better game?

come on devs. think like players, not like bankers!!!

If I recall correctly, they did put something similar to what you saying in one of the initial versions of the MU.  But then feedback must have been that many wanted to be able to have a fully M4 machine with all parameters maxed out one day instead of 1 machine being strong in 1, 2 or 3 aspects.

Also if you wanna know, the 1st propositions for MU were more expensive.  Well in some ways

Well... that's a damn good comment, totally agree with u. In this game should be added more options, just to make players think more, otherwise this games auditory will be 10year old kids... forever...

why,  didnt the devs make the micros more varied? i would have preferred a 50 upgrade max per unit (for example). yet you have the choice what you want to upgrade?

for example: i want to upgrade my mammoth. i have a max of 50 upgrades. i can choose what upgrade i want. i could, if i desired, upgrade only the speed of my mammoth 50 times. or i could upgrade my mammoths protection 50 times. this could go for power, turn speed etc. and translates to turrets and paints!

this would make a more varied game. there would be fast yet less protected hulls. a thunder that had a fast reload, yet lowe damage .or a thunder that had high damage but a slow reload etc. you could make an average, whatever!

the game would be more varied, more personal, less predictable....

perhaps its because the micros are yet another game change aimed at making money, rather than making a better game?

come on devs. think like players, not like bankers!!!

the micro upgrades are a massively expensive and devious introduction of M4. good points, you can upgrade your unit bit by bit over time. downpoint - the cost. 250,000 for one fully upgraded micro. expensive!

however. the cost isnt my axe to grind.

the main failing, and Tanki have missed an opportunity here to make the game more varied: is that the micro upgrades are rigid.

you have no choice how to upgrade your units. they can all be upgraded. this means its just another tier. at M3 level, effectively making it an M4. compared to the M2 to M3 upgrade, a hugely expensive one.

perhaps its because the micros are yet another game change aimed at making money, rather than making a better game?

come on devs. think like players, not like bankers!!!

the micro upgrades are a massively expensive and devious introduction of M4. good points, you can upgrade your unit bit by bit over time. downpoint - the cost. 250,000 for one fully upgraded micro. expensive!

however. the cost isnt my axe to grind.

the main failing, and Tanki have missed an opportunity here to make the game more varied: is that the micro upgrades are rigid.

you have no choice how to upgrade your units. they can all be upgraded. this means its just another tier. at M3 level, effectively making it an M4. compared to the M2 to M3 upgrade, a hugely expensive one.

why,  didnt the devs make the micros more varied? i would have preferred a 50 upgrade max per unit (for example). yet you have the choice what you want to upgrade?

for example: i want to upgrade my mammoth. i have a max of 50 upgrades. i can choose what upgrade i want. i could, if i desired, upgrade only the speed of my mammoth 50 times. or i could upgrade my mammoths protection 50 times. this could go for power, turn speed etc. and translates to turrets and paints!

this would make a more varied game. there would be fast yet less protected hulls. a thunder that had a fast reload, yet lowe damage .or a thunder that had high damage but a slow reload etc. you could make an average, whatever!

the game would be more varied, more personal, less predictable....
