M1 rail kills 121 (x2 242), M2 rail kills 136 (x2 272). M2 mammoth has 300 HP. Thus it takes more than 1 drugged rail shot to kill it. Except for M3 rail...unless you have at least Tundra as protective paint then it'll take 2 shots.

with m3 it isn't a one shot kill with power too, you still need that second shot with power.

I was referring to M2 mammoth (300 HP). M3 rail kills up to 167. Now that x2 is 334. So if an M2 mammoth has no rail protective paint, it'll be destroyed in one drugged shot.
