The contest rules stated that you simply had to edit a image from Google to be considered in the contest, not sure why there's so much complaining.

My last post here, you didn't understand the rules. ORIGINAL CREATION - They steal a pic and add next to nothing on. What they did was take the background and ADD quite a lot of detail on top of that. You, as well had the option to do that, but chose not to.

I think an edited Google image was considered an original creation so long as you didn't take someone else's background.

whydotheyme, you are disgracing yourself in the forums. You are acting extremely arrogantly. although I am just a lowly staff sergeant, and have not participated in the contest, AND accept the fact that the copyright is not exactly right, I believe that there are others that have done much better than your (best of cases) average drawings and are still not complaining. other than that, spoiler 3 is NOT copyright. In fact, that one was MUCH better than your one as he took effort to hand-draw, instead of simply using computer imaging, and could be better if coloured. Btw to others that read this post, I am not saying whydotheyme is completely wrong. at least he took the effort. And yeah Viking, no offence, but please, use more time to check up on the images.

Even if he did hand draw it, it not suited as a wallpaper image.

 

Apparently copied images, google images, and images that break the rules is the criteria that we are aiming for

In Sachin's case, I do believe it's against the rules, because it isn't an original work, even if it's well done. Also, I don't agree with SofD about any rules being broken, but I certainly don't agree with the judges on some of these. In the future I suggest staff get more input on each work before making a decision.

Selena's image is way bigger than the max resolution (its 2560x1800)

I agree; it's unfair if an entry broke the rules and still manages to win a prize, but the results are decided and there's no changing it
