Mosquitos

This pesky bug stings can sting you a whole lot, especially in the battlefield. Very few have truly mastered the art of the Mosquito, but those who catch on are a tankman's worst nightmare in many a situation. The mind-blowing speed of the Wasp combined with the epic power of the Railgun create a brand new way of playing Tanki Online.

This is the 'Mosquito' topic, where you can post questions facts, stats, and more on this amazing combo.

All right Lexon, it sounds like what you are lacking right now is a bit of confidence. Instead of racking up kills by staying in one place and sniping, move around the map and kill from wherever is least expected. Besides, you have the Wasp - nothing can outrun you! Another thing to do is to join at the very start of the game so you can lead the scoring from the beginning. Good luck!

Wasp is pretty weak, so I suggest a paint protecting against some dangerous weapons, namely Shafts and other Railguns. A paint for lower ranks that I sugest is Dirty, which protects 8% against Railgun, which is almost as much as the ever-popular Forester, and 26% against Shaft, which is crucial for someone like you to defend against with the unlocking of M1 Shaft somwhere around Master Seargent. If you had to have two paints with seperate protection, go with Lead (18% against Shaft) and Forester (10% against Railgun). Try them out!

@Hyperactive_1, Mosquitos are no longer unbalanced after the new physics update(even when shooting sideways).

The paint depends on your rank and what turret in particular you want protection from. For instance, I use Forester because railgun trouble me most by 1 shot-killing me. So with Forester I survive M1 rails most of the time. Then I can move on and kill 'em. :D And I'll buy prodigy as quick as possible. ;)

Although I'm only a part-time mosquito. Mostly I use the Dragon-Ninja(Fire-Wasp) ^_^

I agree with UAA619. It is not unbalanced at all any more. :p

However, on the paint topic, with MUs now, any paint with just a speck of Railgun protection in it can be upgraded easily. For example, my Dirty previously had 26% against Shaft and 8% against Railgun. Now it is 32% and 13% and my mosquito can survive M2 Shaft but barely. Plus, the point of a mosquito is to attack, not to defend. If you want to defend, go get an M2 Mammy. That is why mosquitos use the Railgun and not the Smoky or the Thunder or whatever. The point of a mosquito is to deal a ton of damage while still being a fast and sneaky tank, not to sit around beside your flag and drug.

I thougt that I would just say that a mosquito is a great tank to catch the gold box with. I caught it in Silence and Monte Carlo without drugging because I was so fast and could one-shot other tanks who got in my way.

@Spider, I'd say, shaft isn't much of a problem for mosquitoes.. specially as you go higher up the levels you see lesser shafts and more rails but like I said before, Take protection from turrets that annoy you the most and remember.. less that 18-20% protection isn't much although against railgun it is quite a lot since rail takes a lot of time to reload.

Lol! You all talk about Railgun (It's reload is too long for me) and Wasp (I hate that too asalot of peeps can 1 shot you) as very good, but in practise, I wish every enemy were that easy to shunt about. In my Titanic Thunder (Titan and Thunder) They give me a peekaboo. 1 shot hits me, I aim at them, they run for cover. Then they pop out shoot me, I shoot them. They hide, come out and I blow them up before they're bullet gets out of the barrel.

Luckily for you, railgun doesn't bounce. If it did you noobs would 1 shot yourselves!  :P

Dear James,

You may realize that we aren't big noobs. I can blow everyone to pieces on my good account, T-11MSTA with M2 Wasp and M2 Rail. A Thunder does not take skill to use because it reloads fairly fast and deals massive damage per shot. With a Railgun, you usually only have one shot, and boy o boy, do mosquitos make that shot count. Not only that, the Titan has tons of hp, so it doesn't take any skill to master. And if Railguns bounced, everyone would shoot themselves, not just Wasp users.

Now back to you UAA619. I see your point, and you are totally right. You need Railgun protection to avoid one shot deaths. I guess protection from Freeze and Thunder might be important as well.

Ok let's get this straight. I have used both railgun and thunder,  but I'm totally against the idea of you saying that thunder DOESN'T require any skill to use it with.  It's true that railgun needs some good maneuverability and patience and some "more" skill than thunder but that doesn't mean thunder players are noobs who just point and shoot at nothing....Every turret in this this game requires a certain skill and that's why every noob out there can't get to become a generalissimo....

Yeah you're right. Thunder is actually one of my favourite turrets - I just got upset when he called us all noobs. Sorry James.

And Sky, I do have a better account too - T-11MSTA, which is Lientenant General.

Sorry for the outburst!

LoL. That was what I was thinking  :P

I told you I have a better account, T-11MSTA. It has M2 Mosquito on it.

I agree, but when you get M1 wasp, it is crucial that you use a 8% + Railgun protection paint. I recommend M1 Wasp and M1 Railgun, I almost always first. Edited by birdhunter321

Yeah I use Dirty because I cannot actually afford anything else.

Mosquitos are cute, however my M1 Thunder/M1 Hornet allows me to easily dodge Railgun rounds, and then destroy the Wasp in 2 shots.

Jeez what is with all the critizism? I believe you though, because mosquitos are not necessarily meant for close combat.

you seem like a good player . I have a M1 rail and M1 viking with corrosion paint (protection:12% rail,18% thunder,17%shaft).........  Dare to challenge me!!   If yes, sent me a friend request and a message!! ;)
