Obtaining Dictator and other related reads -

    Dictator could arguably be one of the hardest tanks in the whole game to obtain M3. While M0, M1, and M2 modifications are easy to obtain, the rank limits similar to the extremely popular hull Hornet, its M3 modification could be compared to the likes of Mammoth and Titan, the two heavy tanks of the game. It is also one of the most expensive tanks of the game. It used to be classified as a "heavy" tank some time ago in Cybersport, due to its 255 health at M3. Even now, there are rules limiting it, such as  "1 Dictator per team." It is one of the most overpowered tanks there are, great health, comparable to Mammoth M2, but with decent speed, slower than Hunter but faster than Viking, and with more Health than Viking and Hunter. It makes it very great for drug wars. So the question now is - do you want to obtain such an expensive tank?

    Expense taken aside, it is large, ugly to some users, and some call it unstable. First off, judging a hull by looks is a terrible idea. You think M0 Hornet is pretty! Let's join a drug war with it! No, terrible idea. Yes, Dictator might be lighter than Viking, and has a large base, almost as big as Mammoth's base, but I've used it for a few days at M3, and with the new physics, when tanks go ontop of other tanks if they push each other sometimes, I can easily slip ontop of a Hornet while holding the flag, and pass him, even if he is in the way. The large base of Dictator doesn't make it unstable, it's actually an advantage. However, going up and down ramps is one of the things that I find difficult. Going up that side ramp on Silence, I find it hard. But jumping off that cliff in Silence is easy, I don't even flip! If you don't plan to get Dictator M3 in the Medium M3 kit, then I suggest you have a secondary M3 hull in hand. Playing with Dictator M2 in the Brigadier-Commander ranks is seriously going to affect your D/L. Dictator is not meant of ramming tanks off the flag like Mammoth in drug wars. In drug wars, I suggest that you clear the way for a Hornet or Wasp to grab the flag, or maybe get it yourself if its a small-medium map like Silence. Going for the flag with Dictator in Dusseldorf won't work. It is also the best defender in Pro battles, because unless you plan to use Mammoth and sit on the flag to defend, a fast Dictator who can atleast chase the enemy flag caper will help defend more than a Mammoth who can't get the flag back when killed.

 

Pros -

- Dictator is a great hull, with a mix of speed and health

- Dictator is good for drug wars

- If you jump off a ramp in a forward direction, you are almost always going to land straight

- Great stability due to its large base

- If you get the Medium M3 Kit, you will have a large advantage at Lieutenant General

- Height allows it to hit certain places

 

Cons -

- Dictator has a huge rank difference from M2 and M3

- Obtaining it is very expensive

- It has a large base, which can be both a pro and a con

- Some call it ugly, but that doesn't really matter... it's a matter of opinion

- Large hitbox

- Has blind spots

 

Blind spots -

    Dictator has certain areas where it may not be able to hit an enemy too close. It is shown below. For example, if a small hull such as Wasp were to be at the side of a Dictator-Freeze, the angle of the Freeze's firing range and the height of the Dictator would not be sufficient to hit the enemy tank, thus, there are "blind spots." You might have not realized this... since most tanks aren't likely to ram into you at full speed, and not many people have Dictator either.

The best combo with Dictator?

     What might be the best combo with Dictator? We'll start with the close range weapons, Isida, Freeze, and Firebird. I'll give my opinion on which is the best turret suited for Dictator, and what might be one of the worst.

 

     This combo is one of my personal favorites. Isida's ability to gain back health works very well with the high HP and moderate speed that Dictator has. Now, first off, I wouldn't recommend Dictator for attacking in maps such as Dusseldorf, or to use it in Island. This combo is mainly for drugging. Since Dictator already has lots of health, and most people play medium-sized maps, I think I'll talk about it here. The speed of Dictator makes it possible to capture flags while on drugs, and maybe in a Sandbox Pro battle if the enemies aren't careful. However, the health is almost like an M2 Mammoth, so it can withstand the hits while barging into the enemy base. The hull of Dictator makes it possible so that if a fat Mammoth is blocking the enemy flag, you can jump ontop of him and steal the flag. Overall, it works very well for drugwars, and is okay for enclosed maps in which there are a lot of barriers. (Places with lots of walls) Dictator is a funny hull, it's either get it M3 early or wait until Generalissimo, because you can't do a thing if your going to drug with M2 Dictator at Major General.

 

Best places - Drugwar, every map except "extremes," (e.g. Dusseldorf, Island)

    I'd like to say that I would not recommend Dictator with Firebird or Freeze. First, these are close range weapons, but unlike Isida, they don't have auto-aim. Thus, in certain circumstances, it is hard or nearly impossible to shoot the enemy with these turrets. Okay, back to Freeze. Dictator-Freeze wouldn't work for drugwars, or just everyday battles. Because Dictator is so tall, it makes it hard to hit an enemy that is too close. Would not recommend this combo at all. The large size of Dictator makes it almost impossible to circle an enemy if you do Freeze them.

 

Best places - Medium sized maps, Pro battle or drugwar

     This is basically the same as Dictator-Freeze. Nothing to go over.

 

Best places - Medium sized map, Pro battle or drugwar

    This combo actually works quite well. It's more of a mid-field tank, in which you can pelt your enemy with a large amount of shots yet sufficiently retreat, while having the height to shoot in places that others cannot. The height of Dictator can let Smoky shoot above the ledge in Sandbox, while other tanks that are smaller need to move back in order to gain some height to shoot those on higher ground. However, it also makes Dictator an easy target, but it can sufficiently hide. Dictator is not actually "tall," since the weapon doesn't actually get hit. It just appears that way, because when you equip Dictator, the weapon will go to the highest point, making an already tall looking Dictator seem even taller. It is a great combo for Pro battle defense, allowing the user to attack enemies while being able to defend and chase enemies.

 

Best places - Small-medium sized maps, Pro battle

     This works very similarly to Smoky. However, using Thunder, it might be harder to use splash damage, because the hull doesn't accelerate as fast as hulls such as Hornet, making it sometimes hard for Thunder to hit downwards. It'd work well in Pro battles, but not really drugwars, since drugwars are almost all attack, except for Mammoth-Freezes of defense. Thunder would self-damage too much attacking.

 

Best places - Medium sized map, Pro battle

    Twins now is nerfed so that the bullet speed is much slower. Dictator might have a lot of health, and a good amount of speed, but Twins doesn't have that much range, and it'd be easy prey if you used it in Kungur. Twins is similar to Ricochet, it has a great firing angle. You won't need to worry about any blind spots or people hugging your tank. I recommend small-medium sized maps, such as Sandbox and Silence.

 

Best places - Medium-small sized map, Pro battle or drugwar

    This is basically the same as Dictator-Twins. Not much to go over.

 

Best places - Medium-small sized map, Pro battle or drugwar

    This combo works really well in my opinion. It's great for defending. Obviously not attacking, since you wouldn't use Rail to attack anyways. Dictator allows the Railgun user to move around and chase the enemy flag caper, and then sniping them with Rail, while having sufficient health to defend, by staying in close proximity to the flag. Rail isn't a drugwar turret. I recommend Pro battles.

 

Best places - All maps except "extremes," Pro battle.

     Dictator-Shaft is quite similar to Railgun, except Shaft needs to be enclosed around the sides. Dictator might make it hard for a Shaft user to find a hiding spot, but its still good for a Shaft user who changes positions often. I'd recommend Mammoth if you stay in one place. A good thing about Dictator is that the turret is near the end, so you can only peek a small part of your tank out if you were to snipe with Shaft.

 

Best places - Medium-large maps, Pro battle or drugwar

Dictator-Smoky Dictator-Railgun (these two are about equal)

Dictator-Thunder

Dictator-Shaft

Dictator-Twins

Dictator-Ricochet

 

Never use:

Dictator-Freeze

Dictator-Firebird

Important tips - 

- Dictator is a drug tank in drugwars, not a defender! Leave that to the Mammoths.

- In Pro battles, its more suited as a defender, you can't cap flags that well with around 7-8 speed.

- Don't be afraid to jump off cliffs! You'll land safely. Usually. Don't jump in Abyss.

- Watch out for enemies taking advantage of spots that make it hard for you to hit them!

- If an enemy is pushing you from the back, and you push back at him, you can't shoot them! So you shouldn't push enemies, because it makes it harder for you to shoot them. I wouldn't recommend pushing another hull with any hull, because it makes it possible for you to get hit by mines.

Some of it is not true. Dictator is great at caping. And freeze has a bigger vertical range so dictator's height makes it able to reach higher places and you will still be able to hit enemies an okay distance from you. Isida is the best combo in short range weapons because of the auto-aming. Note that isida can only hit the turret's not the actually hull(If you og super close to an isida you will notice you get the white thing and it goes for the turrent). So Dictator's height is great with isida. Especially one maps with height differences.E.g Combe Silence sandbox and ramps

I've the med m3 kit... And I do not think that dictator+firebird is not like dictator+freeze,firebird is more like hit and run away and wait till he dies weapon,freeze is like shoot and shoot.... .-.

Nice 1 = just found that fact recently being up against a dictator hull - they mostly cannot hit you which is a major disadvantage in close order battle.
