I know what the caged  love feels like,alas!

When the sun is bright on my love

When my love steers soft through the springing grass,

And my love flows like streem of glass;

When my first love speaks and the first day starts,

And the first love starts from the beggining of the romance,

I know what the caged love feels!

 

I know why the caged love of romance beats its wings

Till romance is richly filed with love,

For love must be from your heart

And if not from your heart,

You may have to rest alone,

I know why the caged love sings, ah me,

When its wing is bruised and its bossom sour

When love beats its wing on the bars and would be free

Its not a carol of joy glee
