does my computer have a virus

so i look at the "guess the user" forum game and i see this advertisement:

 

 

also, a few hours ago i also saw an advertisement at the bottom of my screen (in the tanki forum)

It's the forum that might have some spamming bots.

 

If you had a Virus, you had browser windows opening or closing without your permission, unknown errors popping up, slower processing, memory leaks, windows spamming and others. It varies a lot.

 

I can assure you that what you saw is problem of the forum's security and not yours.

 

If you didn't click the ad and allow it to install stuff in your PC, I pretty much guarantee you're safe.

it's most probably this, the chances of it being a virus is low.

turns out i had magnipic installed in chrome -.-

Use some adware cleaner.

Just get one of the various free antivirus or anti-malware softwares and scan every so often. Also use NoScript on fishy websites, before you click on them. I've got Avast, Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes all installed at once. :D

Yes. I got my IE with loads of advertisements and they for cleared out soon after I deleted my extension
