Locking topics and stickies

 Share

Recommended Posts

Why lock topics? It only encourages people to make multiple topics about the same or similar subject. Why don't you just let them ramble away in their own topic? I barely see topics being locked in all of the other forums that i use.

Secondly why don't you sticky a post with common questions? It would save people the time in creating topics

I really don't understand how this forum operated most of the time. It's suppose to be a place for people to converse but instead the majority of topics is locked down and people are unable to freely discuss a topic.

Firstly, If the topics are remained open, players will flood there

Secondly, any topics cant be sticky unless the are really useful

Thirdly, Check out Off-topic section, there players discuss freely almost anything

In addition to what other members said, imagine having too many topics discussing same subject (say Gold Box). Don't you think new members and even old members will get confused + the forum will not look organized. We will be having "Gold Box" topic in Creativity section, in General section, in Forum Games section. All this will be enough to get a headache

Glad to see members helping out each other, EN community (rock)

Why lock topics?

To avoid pointlessness and violations.

They want to keep the forum clean.

The FAQ section already exists.

It is the place to converse, but the majority of the English forum are immature and love to break the rules, if you could see the Russian or German forums, they're quite and their forums just go perfect.

Important topics have a topic for discussion, same as contests.

So you know, there is a definite reason behind the closing of every topic.

Either the topic already exists - we do not need two

The topic doesn't deserve to be a whole topic (questions, ideas) - we have special discussion topics for that

Of course reasons like trolling or violations get closed because they are contrary to the rules.

There's already a FAQ section for this.

As for the other point raised, there's clearly a problem there. Yes, some topics should be locked. But only some...
