Nah, Mostly because no one has anything to gain from wars any more. (Apart from the guys selling the weapons that is) :P

I'm still not going to count Germany out. Europe as whole would play a huge role.

If the superpower of this generation keeps trying to preserve peace in this world... I don't think there will be a world war :D

Is the UAE, Qatar, Saudia Arabia, Kuwait, Turkey included in the "less developed areas"? Coz if it is it would be funny for the reason that they are some of the world's richest countries.

UAE is a far developed country as it has become very rich after they found oil.

It has grown a lot from a sandy desert to a green and a very developed country :) i live there and its a pleasure living there.

Sadly, the revolt in Ukraine might cause international problems, which may lead to a war (and I hope not ! )

Also, the Soch games are a critical moment, since everybody is expecting attacks from muslims and islamists

Superpower. Really, the only countries ever to have arguably received that title are the U.S.S.R before it collapsed and the United States of America. Really, the US is the last of a dying breed. Superpowers are becoming obsolete. A world of unified countries working together would work a lot better than a world under one country. The United States really isn't afraid to flex it muscles either. If you didn't notice, about 13 years ago, there was a bit of an attack. The United States proceeded to completely steamroll a region in search of 1 man.

Well, the British Empire was pretty large at one point (and yes, I'm British :P ).

I wouldn't call that a "flexing of the muscles" by the US, I'd call that "unnecessary bloodshed for political gain". Without getting too politically involved, I'd argue 9/11 was sort of used as an excuse, a trigger used to achieve certain selfish goals. The War on Terror was much more than just a war on terror, in other words - there were obviously other goals.

Very well said, sir. Yes, the sun never sets on the British Empire! I suppose you could argue that Jolly Old England was a super power at one point as well. There really is much controversy over what the exact intentions were, but 9/11 does seem like a quite valid excuse. Something like "Hey, they've got oil and one of theirs killed a good 3,000 of ours... We should declare war!", because that is how the average American politician's mind works, sadly enough. Flexing its muscles does seem like a bad way to word it, but I am not always great with politics. I just happen to live here. I guess my general idea was that the world isn't exactly what I would call 'Peace oriented'.

Agreed with what you've said here, and thanks for expanding on that point. Ah well, at least there aren't any more Bushes for now ^_^
