How come tank viewer doesn't work when i try to open files with Adobe Reader? When I try to open it says: " Adobe Reader could not open '2_Hunter_0123.3ds' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)." or something to that affect. Please help me. Is it that I am using mac? or am I doing something wrong?

Hello, I laughed off my chair when I read it. You have to use adobe standalone flash player to switch it on instead of using adobe reader. Adobe reader is for opening .pdf file. Besides, you cannot open the file straight but you have to put the .3ds in the file TankViewer. To be honest, you can just you the .exe and change the tank but not opening alone. TankViewer is the app to view the tanks.

Me too (No Offence). Open it using your web browser, or Stand Alone flash player. Not Adobe Reader.

And in this case, I should have made a better guide, but I had to go off, So gave you this simple answer.

 

TankViewer can also be used for designing, You could capture them, make them transparent and then use in pictures.

 

Here is a method on how to make the transparent (For Non-Photoshop Experts)

 

 

 

1. First take a screenshot of your tank and crop it. For Example

For Example (You may not see the image clearly because the forum has the same background color. Click the image) :

 

2. Go to http://clippingmagic.com/ and upload your image.

3. Paint the wanted part (the tank) with green.

 

4. Paint the unwanted part (the gray background) with red.

 

5. Press the Download button. 

 

Tada! You've done it!
