I am using landform maps as an example, there are also political maps available for every type of the above maps

because I think not

Why is north at the top and south at the bottom?

North and south are cardinal directions, whereas up and down are ​relative direction, so why have we labeled north with up, and south with down?

The answer is simple;

Being on the top=Being better (why the australians put themselves on top of the world, and why we put ourselves on the top of the world)

So the question is who is right?

i prefer Australian map cuz it helps me a lot in Geography for locating cities and countries.
