Would you ever want to be home-schooled?

yes. with the home-schooling program I have, there are many ups, compared to public school. for instance, you get a free computer, they give you 25 dollars every month for internet connection, there are no bullys, and you can get done much earlier than regular school. for instance, I consistently get done at 11:30 every day, compared to 3:00 or 2:30. and you also get to have lunch at home.

Sounds kind of lonely.

Plus you will have a harder time getting in universities.

So no

"Sounds kinda lonely." Can't disagree with that, it does get lonely, but you do meet friends :P

"Plus you will have a harder time getting in universities" Not at all true. A. Universities are equal opportunity. B. Being homeschooled doesn't make it any harder.

Being homeschooled can be fun. Stay in your pajamas, have your own schedule, go to an event at noon, there's just more freedom to it.

I did for many years with a special teacher, it's awesome way better than normal school no contamination etc, at recess i went back played soccer its really good to be honest :D..
(Funny when you aren't the only who is in it my other 3 brothers did too)

EDIT: And believe me, you learn way more than in public schools, the only thing is friend and stuff but nothing that cares a lot

none of you guys know the shere awesomeness of home schooling.

I do, I was homeschooled all the way till college, and I got into Cambridge no problem.

At this point I have plenty of options for university, by I've learned that the formal education system is extremely flawed, so for the time being I choose to study on my own at my own pace.

I was home-schooled until this year, but now I go to school. IMO, the only plausible reasons to go to school are for friends, or if you're lazy ;) With home-schooling, if you work hard, you can get way more work accomplished. In a lot less time, too. And then you'll be free to do whatever you want. No h/w at all. And from what I've heard, universities like home-schoolers a lot ;)

Not really - I think the social aspect of school helps people to become more rounded characters, generally. Though I can see why home-schooling would be more productive in terms of actual education.

Of course, there are disadvantages and advantages. I am 15, and still home-schooled - though with exams and sixth form coming up, that will end soon. I, personally, whole-heartedly support the idea of homeschooling children, particularly in a "family", through "Primary" School Years if possible. At that point, there are arguments both ways for homeschooling and schooling.

I often reminisce about whether I should have started school at Secondary School. However, there is a fact that you learn more at home, though that is far more true through the primary years. And then there is the lack of a social life, particularly if you are a single chlid being homeschooled. Things to consider.

I know hog in RL, and having seen his family, they are certainly far more advanced in their education than normal kids would be at school.
