One question.

WHY THE HECK are most XP battles with crystal drops turned on?! Crystals are distracting and useless, since it's much better to have them automatically add to the fund, rather than risk having some of them disappear.

If you play them often, you should buy the monthly pass. If you play at least 10+ PRO battles per month it's already cheaper to buy the pass.

The reason you pay is because in normal battles you pay with supplies, while in PRO battles you pay with crystals, but don't waste drugs.

Wrong, 1 month, wait and watch :)

I will wait one month and after it doesn't come out I'll NEVER let you forget your lie!

That 's a strong claim.

Really hope you are not fooling us, or being fooled... :(

Two brilliant updates in such a short timespan?

First the drugs cooldown and secondly an XP format: too good to be true?

We 'll know soon enough.

Some players said that XP mode is for players, who can't play effectively in non-xp battles, and that's why they run away from them in these XP. Also, they're sure that XP players can show cool skill only on 2-5 maps, such as sandbox, duel, and mabye some else because they only spent a lot of time playing at the same maps, but in a most different maps they're not able to achive great results.

That was funny for me to know that english-speaking community also use russian term "XP" (Хорнет Рельса), because it's correct to call it "HR" (Hornet Railgun).

P.S. That's my first messages there. My english is far from perfect, so, if you can find some mistakes, you're welcome to correct them and tell me. Thanks.

Funny guys those "some players"! ;)

Actually the level of gameplay/skill required to be able to compete in an XP/BP battle is that high, that a player IMO already

has to be above average with the combo Hornet-Railgun or Wasp-Railgun in regular battles to join XP 's.

If a Tanker doesn 't have the necessary experience he/she sure won 't enjoy being in an XP and will most probably leave

very soon: or being asked to do so.

In the contrary an average XP player will most likely be one of the top players in a regular battle.

Quite simply because XP demands an (almost) complete range of skills: and these all combined at once to cope with the

kind of fast and unforgiving gameplay you 'll find in XP.

To name a few:

- anticipating, making a quick calculated guess where your opponent will be at the moment your delayed Railshot

actually fires. Also used ofcourse in an opposite way by your opponent who can make

a feint move to trigger you to shoot (hate it, when they do that :P ).

- swift changes of cameraviews while driving for a good situational awareness: where are your opponents,

are they charging up, is that tank already been shot once? etc.

- driving for- and backwards should be done without any delay and regardless the position of your Railgun,

there is no time to turn your Tank around (one of the benefits of the Hornet 's centralized turretposition)

- good aiming skills: no matter the position of your tank, whilst driving around you must be able to almost constantly pinpoint

your gun at your opponent. Also a quick combined turn with tank and gun in the same direction will still lead to a hit.

ofcourse you know how to rock/tip your gun and you can shoot it in difficult angles in all directions.

- tactics, probably the hardest part! This is what divides a good XP player (just hope I 'm one) from the real Pro 's.

Those guys almost always make the right decisions for the team in a split second, which can only be achieved

by playing many, many XP 's.

Well, I 'm sure I forgotten to mention some, but it 's already quite a list. Look in regular battles and you will find that

most players have some of these skills, but you won 't find many that "own" them all.

Which is no big deal in a regular CTF or TDM, it does becomes slightly more appparent in a DM and finally

what 's lacking becomes apparent in an XP.

That 's one of the reasons XP is so good to hone your skills. My advice would be to first try some free XP 's with

the daily gift Pro Battle pass. You will soon know what could and should be better in your gameplay.

Next use Hornet/Wasp-Rail in regular battles (certainly in Sandbox) and if you feel you are up to it, go for

another round. Just be aware: XP/BP can be addictive...

Finally the few Maps where XP 's are being played doesn 't mean that you become "handicapped" on other ones.

If a very addicted XP player would only play on those few Maps for a year, he would still do well on other Maps.

Especially in XP you need to know all the ins and outs of a Map.

This knowledge can easily be transferred to other Maps, simply because all Maps contain repeating elements.

well said. Totally agree with you.

This reminds me of the same thing that happened with Ricochet after "re-balancing". Some players abandoned their favourite gun and switched to the OP smoky and twins, but the more dedicated ones created a club and played in private battles against other ricochets, so that the chances would be equal. Now, however, Rico is powerful again and there is no need to isolate ourselves from other guns. Ricochet fans are out in the battlefield again, wrecking everyone and everything, while the club battles are no more.

Relating this ti the topic, Railgun is not underpowered, but very difficult to use (perhaps THE most complex gun the requires the most skill for best results). Most players don't know how to deal with knockback guns that constantly ruin the aim and in drug battles the Railgun is fairly useless due to the way it shoots. It's common that when you try to shoot an enemy, someone kills them while your shot is warming up and you end up wasting it. Same goes for finishing off an almost dead tank: yes, you got the kill, but most of the damage was wasted and thus you are not helping your team as much as you could. This is why twins and smoky are the best for drugging - easy to switch between targets and missing a shot is not that big of a setback. With that logic, it's not surprising that railgun fans isolate themselves, because HR vs HR battles are the only place where you can really use your skill with railgun to your full potential.

Добро пожаловать к Англичанам :)

Потихоньку отвоёвываем у них пространство... Кстати английский у тебя фактически идеален, по сравнению со многими англоговорящими участниками здесь :P

Maybe it wasn 't your intention, but your story sounds somewhat negative.

Railgunners "running" from regular battles, because they can 't compete with other weapons.

This might be true in your ranks, that goes beyond my knowledge, but not so against the ranks I am in.

Sure, you better avoid small Maps in regular battles (like Sandbox :D: but do visit it to practice XP/BP),

because of the Railgun 's long recharging and because it 's fairly easy for a good player to

shoot you off aim at a short distance.

Close- and midrange weapons are ofcourse harder to deal with in small Maps.

Also in many DM 's the Railgun is often not the best choice.

In TDM 's and CTF 's however the Railgun is a strong force to be reckoned with!

With the back-up of a decent team the Railgun on a light hull is more than capable of

giving close and decisive support to an attack.

Not to mention you can strike at the whole battlefield in a matter of seconds when skilled enough.

Just ask flagcapers about their feelings regarding this gun... :P

So I myself don 't feel any need to isolate myself from regular battles with the Railgun.

It is just a matter of choosing the right gamemode and Map (the bigger, the better as a general rule)

XP in my eyes is just a tremendous bonus! It does not only sharpen your skills with the Railgun and a light hull,

but the lessons learned in XP can easily be transferred to other weapons and hulls.

As you yourself already mentioned "perhaps THE most complex gun that requires the most skill for best results".

Well I totally agree on that! If you can master the Hornet and/or Wasp and especially the Railgun, you are more

than ready to quickly get good results with any other piece of equipment available at the present Tanki Online.

XP doesn 't mean isolation at all: a small group may choose that voluntary because XP battles are that good.

But most, including myself will keep on switching between XP and regular battles.

And in the process be themselves a force to be reckoned with: no matter which weapon or hull they choose... -_-

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there will be a 50% sale on tankman's day so that I can get my railgun m0-m2.

^ Lol you got 2014 posts, cool xD

Does anyone know how many shots it takes M1 Railgun to kill a M1 Wasp with Digital?

Railgun m1 will do 48.1 minimum damage to a hull with digital. Wasp m1's protection is 95.

So, it'll take 2 shots to kill it providing there are no micro upgrades in the paint and/or wasp. Then and again, micro upgrades are usually off in XP/BP battles.
