I hate the recorder on most cpus, you need a quite room with your face far away from mic, and speak with more power and clearer. that should help a lot..

OK, you can use Audacity (I did too, to change how my voice sounded a bit) to remove background noise. If you import the audio, just look at the bits where you're not talking but the "line" isn't perfectly straight and make them silent.
