Can you explain how the upgrades work?

 

Do the prices decrease for payment in crystals or real money?

You need to fully upgrade the parameter to get the discount. So, if you fully MU the reload time on Shaft M2, M3 Shaft will be a bit cheaper.

So you don't have to upgrade all the parameters jsut one and the cost will decrease? when you upgrade, this also adds whatever parameter you're upgrading to your current hull or turret?

Also,  by how much does the price decrease if you upgrade one parameter?

Correct. The price decrease depends on which parameter you upgrade, but it is usually around 15%.

Prices are based off of crystals. Crystals can be purchased with real money, or earned in-game. You can also win crystals through prizes from tournaments and contests.

 

The price of the next modification when you fully micro-upgrade one parameter to completion will vary, but generally it is a small percentage. By no means do you 'save' crystals by doing this. Its better to only MU the first 1-3 steps of the most important parameters, and then save your crystals to upgrade the next modification entirely. MU's should mostly be done at M3 when you have spare crystals leftover.

 

By upgrading every single parameter to max, of a particular item, the next modification will be up to 70% cheaper. Once again, this isnt a good way to 'save' money. The first few upgrades give by far the most increase, and it quickly descends to a very small increase in performance, for a very fast ascending price.
