[Issue 21] The History of the Kits

What are kits?

A kit is several goods combined into one. Together, they cost half the price of the same goods bought separately. Moreover, some items from kits may not be available at your rank, but you can already buy them as a part of a kit. Finally, buying a kit you can get a weapon or a hull without having to purchase all its previous modifications first.

Kits are the best way to get good stuff cheaply and quickly, as well as before the ranks they are usually available. Nowadays, they are ordinary. Did they always exist? Of course not. Let's have a look at their history.

The first kits were introduced in the game on the 9th of April 2013. At this time, four kits were created. The first three weren't that interesting as they were the Heavy Tank, Medium Tank and Light Tank M0 kits. They respectively cost 18,500, 15,000, and 10,200 crystals and weren't available after the rank of Staff Sergeant. Thus, they weren't popular at all as they were expensive and not that good - especially due to the fact that very few low-ranked players bought crystals.

However, the fourth kit interested everyone; as it was available until Generalissimo. It marked the beginning of non-ending supplies battles; it is the Supplies kit! Drugging became even more common after its launch as supplies became available at a discount price.

It was said that M3 kits would be introduced later, but most of the tankers forgot about it until the 29th of September, when M1, M2 and M3 kits have been added, along with another Supplies kit, containing 1000 supplies of each.
Most of the Tankers
hated this update, they were afraid of having a broken gameplay as the first post's number of likes confirms us.

Even after pages of complaints and tears, the Tanki Online team did not change anything.  Mammoth M2, Rico M2 and Inferno would stay available at Second Lieutenant.
Right after the update, Generalissimos were really angry, as the ranks limits have been limited to Commander, letting them unable to buy the new kits while Brigadiers could get M3 stuff really cheap. Thanksfully, it was quickly changed.
The
most popular kit was indisputably the Medium Tank kit M2: affordable, with extremly good stuff at First Lieutenant. A considerable amount of bored Generalissimos started a new account to buy it.

M3 kits were not as popular as they could have been, mostly due to their expensiveness: the Heavy Tank M3 kit cost 600k crystals! The Light Tank M3 kit was by far the most popular M3 kit - it was expensive, but less than the two others, and it was really attractive. Some of the players who started another account to get the Medium Tank M2 kit kept playing and got it later on.

A few month passed, and the kits were common. On the 14th of December, devs removed unpopular kits and replaced them with a new kind of kits, "theme" kits. The M0 kits were replaced with the Starter kit and the Starter kit XL. The Medium Tank kit M1 was removed and the Turret kit appeared. The Light Tank M2 kit was shifted with the Hull Kit, and the Paint Kit was released.
The Starter kits were a huge move forward, they were quite cheap and newcomers could actually buy them without paying real money. The Turret kit and Hull kit started a new wave of new accounts made by experienced players in order to dominate newbie's battles (like ). The latest kit, the Paint kit, was not popular at all - it cost an arm (500k crystals) - and most of the players were not ready to pay this for a few paints. Even if the paints in it are really good.

More recently, on the Valentine's day, devs made an interesting change: they updated all the M3 kits and the Paint kit.
The M3 kits went from Wasp/Freeze, Dictator/Railgun, Titan/Smoky to
Hornet/Railgun, Hunter/Smoky, and Mammoth/Twins. More interestingly, the prices went from 400, 500 and 600k to 300, 400 and 450k crystals. The price change mainly comes from a change in the paints; the old kits used to have three expensive paints (e.g. Needle/Clay/Picasso) while the new ones have only an expensive and an average paint (e.g. Picasso/Digital).

The Paint kit was split in two; a "M1" and a "M2" Paint kit. Those were more interesting; as the M2 kit gives you an excellent paint (Prodigi) and two good paints (Rustle and Spark) for only 200k crystals.

kits are nothing to benefit buyers crystais. why?, are too expensive and a player who does not buy crystals will hardly get crystals to buy a kit unless of course the M3 kits in battles over auto rank the background is larger (pro battle with clear crystals and drugs off) and easier to collect crystals, alendo is most unfair! a buyer should not take advantage just because a buyer. tanki online this put us against the wall to make the purchase of crystals I buy crystals that do not have much time to play anymore I should not have advantage that I buy.

completing what I said above is also taking the balance of the game river.

I remember when kits were actual saves when buying them. Now......they're just an accumulation of hull, turrent, and sometimes paint with a big red seal slapped on 'em with a "sale" sticker......you'd save more waiting for a 50% (a real) sale.
