tanki online, i think you should not do this because i play contract wars, and a few months ago this was told:

So according to this old GPUs wont support contracts wars. And if you move to unity then you may lose many players who have older GPUs...

Well, as said in the video, it will be easier to implement new features in the game. As they will have to rewrite everything the code will be clearer and there should be less "bugs".

Maybe, maybe not :) . If every time you rewrote code in a different language it was clearer, software development would be much easier. (Computer Science major)

I'm still unclear if I will be able to play once you switch to unity. They say it supports Linux but if the devs go with 'unity web player' there is no browser plugins available for Linux yet. Unity claims that there will be one in the future. Maybe the devs of this game will be able to help make this a reality. Flash has become obsolete and does need to be replaced with something else. Unfortunately for anyone using something based off of Linux, including Chromebooks, this is just bad timing. I'm sure Linux support will come with time, we just my have to wait awhile. Flash is also no longer supported by Linux, so most of the Linux users can only use Chromes built in flash "pepperflash"

 

 

And to everyone saying "don't change the game" how many times does it have to be said "they are not changing the game". If they gave you 2 versions, 1 using flash and 1 using unity, you would not be able to tell the difference. NOW DO YOU GET IT?

Yes it does.   In most cases flash comes installed, so most aren't even aware of the plugin. I think most of the people posting comments are very young and don't understand a lot about computers. They only know how to turn them on and get on the web.

 Please can Semyon or a a staff member respond to my page 3 post and to the many points and questions raised in this topic.

I accept the need to move to a new engine, but not a hard drive based game, like WoT and some Unity games.

Please can we have some clarification about the type of Unity Tanki game proposed - will it be a Unity Web Player based game with  Meg download or are we looking at a multi Gig Tanki download? Tnx

There have been so many requests in this topic for clarification and further information from Tanki, but no response to date.

 

If the devs clearly say, "Yes - its  'unity web player' -  there will be  Unity browser plugins available for Linux almost overnight. Supply follows demand - "preinstalled"  also follows demand.

Please Semyon, Tanki staff, Chief Dev - is it yay or nay to the  Unity Web Browser plugin or will  it be a Giga download like W of Tanks?

 

Giga download memory games,  need high-speed multi Gig Ram to prevent Hard Drive overuse and other problems. 

 

I have lots of ram now - but I still remember crunching my first HD - my favourite game had so many 'must have' expansions, all loaded and running at the same time. I hope this topic is not shortly to be locked. Tnx.

Why would they be aloud to have flash plugin but not unity plugin?  That makes no sense.  

And frankly we could stand a few  less "kids" around here. The reason I put kids in quotes is because I'm referring to maturity level not necessarily age. I've met some really mature pre-teens and some really immature 20+. You all know what I mean.

They aren't taking anything away from you.  If your a buyer and you may not be able to play after this upgrade,like myself, oh well consider it payment for the time you've already spent here.

If graphics change, and i do not like them i am leaving for something else better.

Hopefully tanks will look the same and the same maps,i am looking forward to seeing rounded roads/terrains.

i just thought players would want something that i wanted.

Found a good looking game that runs unity maybe ill switch over to.

Instead its sailing on the sea. I like their graphics.

Its under developement.

Its a MMO to,just like tanki but is in developement.

Two important reasons: Flash player is a dead end ánd they want to bring Tanki with Unity to mobile devices.

 

If they can make the controls work??? I believe they will strike Gold.

My suggestion: no supplies would already mean 5 buttons less: I know I would love that! :P

 

There are not many tablet games that are so good as Tanki is.

You got to have quite a big screen though IMO, I suppose it would really work on a 7 inch and larger.

For the Linux users I hope they have the time and patience

(it is beta, so Unity is testing it already) to wait till Unity supports Linux too!

Guys. Listen Up. Semyon said that there would be no soldiers in tanki, they are just prototypes. and there will be no refund. and tanki won't EVER be world of tanks. graphics are too far. Don't mind world of tanks. mind tanki online. its my game its their game its our game. there would be no other tanki online. just this is tanki online.
