On the 11th of every month a new riddle would be added. In case the riddle is answered before the deadline, a new riddle would be added soon. If no correct answer was posted, the answer would be given out and a new riddle would be added.

Note that the riddles posted is made by me and can not be found in the internet. Another thing is that all of the riddles that posted here aren't regular math riddles, but ones that require an opened mind and knowledge of advanced math. The riddles may require some researching in the Internet, depending on your knowledge in math. Players who give the correct answer would be added to the HOF.

The Current Riddle :

Round #2 :

Given the table below, what is the function of f(x)?
x | f(x)
1 | 1.8
2 | 4.4
3 | 7.8
4 | 12
5 | 17
6 | 22.8
7 | 29.4
8 | 36.8

1. ---- Answered By : @HirunMeepage

What are the two prime (prime number=number that can be divided only by itself and 1) numbers with three digits, that when multiplying one of them in the other will result 424,253 (Four hundred twenty four thousand two hundred fifty three)?
The clue: Pierre De Fermat
The answer: 571 and 743, because 571*743 is 424,253.

The answer for the first riddle of this game:

Multiplying 631 by 673 results in 424,253. So the answer is 631*673.

Suggestions:

1. It would be great if there was a Hall of Fame.

2. To add a new riddle every time the previous one is solved, or else it would be boring.

I will add a Hall Of Fame and a new question when the last one is solved, but that's not the answer because I asked for PRIME numbers! Prime numbers are ones that can be divided only by themselves and by 1. Even if it weren't prime numbers only, the answer of 631*673 is 424,663, and not 424,253. Nice try, but try again.

Actually, I used a Prime Numbers chart to get the answer and it can't be wrong, and I knew that Prime Numbers are defined as numbers that could only be divided by 1 and itself. So my idea is that this is correct

Check in your calculator, 631*673 is 424,663.

So, I had done a small mistake.

No problem, I just said it's a wrong answer. Nice try! Sorry for saying what I said about prime Numbers, I don't know why but immediately I reacted as though your numbers aren't prime. CORRECTION: @HirunMeepage gave a wrong answer, but his answer actually WAS with prime numbers.

571 into 743 gives 424,253. So, it matches with the required answer.

So the final answer is 571*743.

Player @HirunMeepage has given the correct answer, that was 571*743, and was added to the Hall Of Fame. A new riddle awaits you in the first post of the topic!

I don't see a new one. And make sure you add the previous questions in a spoiler.

Not sure if this is correct since, I haven't learned this much.

But still, Answer: 0.4(x^2)+1.8x, Hope it is correct, if not, I'd give up this round.

Nope, wrong answer but nice try!

Nope, wrong answer but nice try!

No Problem, I'd just say what I really did.

0.4(x^2)+1.8x
Assuming function to be quadratic
f(x)= ax^2+bx+c
x=1 a+b+c=1.8
x=2 4a+2b+c=4.4
x=3 9a+3b+c=7.8

solving we get a=0.4, b=1.4, c=0.

So if we put x=6(or any random value) to confirm the answer, f(6) we get 22.8 which is true and confirmed.

Unfortunately it was wrong. :(

None of these are right.

f (x) =f*x

f (x) = 1.8*1=1.8

Im probs wrong and stating the obvious but aww well :)

Nope. The function isn't even close to that. But a good joke lolz  :D

it is a square root function aka a quadratic function

it is exactly

√3.24x

For you and for everybody, a little clue: There are no roots in that function.

@canadarules, you can understand from the statement above that you are wrong.

i can get it in 5 secondes with my calculater

You can, but you need much logic and opened mind. When I gave this riddle, that first I thought of was that somebody will build a computer program that will find the function by that table (I know many computer languages, so my first connotation was to computer programming). You need to use your logic to find most of that riddle, but the rest you can do in a calculator. That's the reason you can use a calculator in matriculation exams.

Nice try everybody, but nobody got the right answer until now. Like I said in the first post (that contains the riddle itself too), if you don't solve the riddle within 3 more days (it's 4 days from the day that the riddle was given), I'll give the answer and the next riddle.
