How to play.

 

            Like XP battles, Slendertank (ST) battles have a general outline, within which there are many variations. In a nutshell, there is the Slendertank, and everyone else. Whoever is chosen to be 'it' usually has Viking, Titan, or Mammoth, along with Ricochet, Thunder, or Railgun and a protective paint against Smoky, with the aim of making 'it' as strong as possible. Everyone else must have Wasp and Smoky, with no protective paints. The game is played in Death Match mode, so that 'it' can kill everyone in the map. The Wasps, AKA the survivors of a nuclear Apocalypse, have to team up and work together to defeat the monster who is bent on killing as many people as possible. The game is not one where you swamp the monster Godmode_ON style, the aim of the battle is to stay alive for as long as you can. This means that Slender is playing a game of hide and seek with the Wasps, with the survivors shooting at their target from (hopefully) well chosen hiding places.  Much like a game of tag, however, a ST battle usually has no clear winner. The winner is not the Wasp with the most kills, it is the Wasp with the most kills AND the best D/L. Unless the Wasps can never kill their target, the one chosen to be Slender can never win. A ST battle can have 2 Slendertanks if there are more than ten players total.
 
The Creation.

            Slendertank Battles are a little known game mode developed by Maverick18. The equivalent of the final boss in mario, it pits a powerful enemy against a swarm of wasps. The idea was born on a cold and rainy morning, not too long ago. Maverick had just finished watching a not-so trustworthy video on the worlds biggest myth spawning site, Youtube. After he finished bleaching his mind of all the evilness in the world, he sat down at his drawing pad and created a battle mode-- Slendertank.* Generally, the word slenderman is given to a mythical monster which may or may not exist exclusively in cyberspace. It is said to have twelve arms and no face, and can disappear and reappear at will.** But let us leave the realm of imagination, and return to solid ground again.

Tips and Tricks

 

               Like XP battles, one does not simply wake up and decide to win a Slendertank battle. One has to know the best hiding spots in each map. Generally speaking, the best maps include Polygon, Desert, 2042, Novel, Bobruisk, or any other map with plenty of cover. The best technique to win a ST battle is to have multiple tanks playing peekaboo (hiding behind a wall, and then backing out just as you have finished reloading) at once.

                When multiple tanks are doing this the Slendertank in the middle cannot concentrate on one Wasp at a time, because the others will kill him, but he cannot turn his turret to keep up with the alternating firing of the other players.
 
                 The best way for the Slendertank itself to survive is too find a good camping spot and defend that. Unlike XP battles, ST battles are not usually played with Pro passes, and so mines can be used. The other option which works well with combos such as Viking and Ricochet is to keep moving and target one Wasp at a time. If you keep moving fast enough, the other Wasps cannot find a good spot to snipe you from and stick with it. This method is very difficult, however, and is very easy to get wrong.
 
 

                   Although it does not give you the high rewards that a XP battle provides, ST battles are a fun way to spend an afternoon with friends, and provide a better alternative to racing on death track all day.
