The sinking of RMS titanic!

April 14th 1912, as passengers and crew sang a welsh hymn, RMS Titanic passed from the british registery.

 

The Titanic all of you may know, was a olympic class ocean liner that sank on her Maiden Voyage on April 14th 1912 in 2 hours and 20 minutes by colliding with an iceberg. The Titanic was abeautiful BIG elegant ship indeed.

The Titanic was built by White star line along with her 2 sister ships (Britannic Olympic) The ship was called "unsinkable" since a new Compartment door system wa built to help prevent sinking completley. The ship was carrying some of the wealthiest people in the world, All from The UK and other European nation seeking a better life in the U.S <3 (God bless America).Titanic wouldve crossed through the atlantic ocean from Southhampton UK To New York City, U.S if it hadnt been for that DAMN iceberg or the lazy messenger. (back to the compartment thing) There were Sixteen Primary compartments divded by fifteen bulkheads well above the Waterline. Eleven of them could be closed from the Bridge in the event of a emergency.The hip had large rudders and propellers, four smoke stacks, iron hull Work rooms and engine rooms, places for crew memebrs, and tons of luxury. However though the ship was slow to turn and the observation crew had no binoculars (not sure why). the ship had only 20 lifeboats, enough room for 705 passengers.Nobody really thought about this since it would make the ship look nice and they thought it was unsinkable. The ships captain was Edward Smith.A good known captain of white star line. 

 

 

Ships first and final voyage:

 

The titanic was warned of several iceberg warnings by other ships, but the messenger was busy and ignored the warnings. The other ships nearby hut off their radio for the night. Later an iceberg was spotted to late. The titanic was forced to speed up and turn to port. The ship was nailed on the side of the bow. Going into several apartments, over the limit. The crew was ushered out as  the water tight door were being closed. People were woken up and brought up to the decks. People thought it was a joke and was just a party until later on. Crew member and officers prepared the lifeboats for the passengers. Women and children first were put into lifeboats then men. More women and children survived then men. 19 lifeobats were launched but the 20th failed to get passengers in. Edward Smith told the bands to play "Nearer my god to thee as the bridge and bow were going under. 

 

Imagine that all of the lifeboats are launched, no ship is there to save you. You see water rushing towards you and others are panicking and running around, dorwning and falling. All you can do is pull out your violin and play until you die.

The song played until the ship finally plunged.

The bridge is now under and the first smoke stack falls crushing many people. The ship sinks slowly as more smoke stacks fall when tey reach the water. The titanics stern is high in the air, people are jumping off, dieing from drowning from cold water. The ship finally cracks in half stern falling into the water crushing those under it. The stern rises up again and plunges quickly. The RMS carpathia rescued the 705 survivors in the morning. One of the worst accidental ship disasters in history with 1,500 people dead and only 705 lived to tell the tale.
