Quite ironic. A few years ago, Christchurch was the one place they said there wasn't a fault line, yet it always gets the earthquakes

I know right, they never saw a fault line under Christchurch till the 7.1 quake.

Yeah, I guess other cities are better prepared for it, that's why it was so devastating

If we knew sooner, those 185 people probably would still be alive today :(

 

But yeah I agree, cities that knows there's a fault underneath them would be better prepared, than poor cities like Christchurch. At least Wellington knows the risk of earthquakes.
