So I'm allowed to take a band class instead of P.E. in school so that I have room for another elective. Therefore, I didn't exercise all year. Then, a few days ago, everybody who took band or choir instead of P.E. had to take a Physical Fitness Test. This included running a mile

And the sad thing is that I was in first by about 20 seconds .-.

Indeed it is, I'm doing marching band next year B)

:D

There was another reason I took band instead of P.E. besides having room for another elective. I'm too lazy to do P.E. :/ I hate exercise when I'm not doing it, it feels kind of good afterwards though -_-

Well, sorry, I would have been in marching band last year, but my mom did some pretty stupid things that got in the way :(

You're lucky. I hate marching. It's always 85ºF and sunny or 35ºF and raining, there is no in between...

Concert band (and jazz band) is way better than marching band.

Well, in my school (I don't know about yours), marching band and jazz band are just extra. Jazz band has an extra period in school for it, and marching band is after school on certain days. In order to be in one of them, you have to be in either the medium level or advanced level band.

And in my area, the weather is changing so much. My town is called "The Land of Four Seasons," but I think that anywhere within 20 miles should be called "The Land of 100 Seasons," that's how much it changes. So there are a lot of in-betweens

I live in Arizona. Practice is next month, June... 110 degrees mate. It's the band 'family,' that's why I'm doing it.

Also, it's an excuse to spend more time with a, em, certain saxophone player... ^_^

Don't forget though, he lives on the East Coast (at least I assume, as he always says things in Eastern Time. If I'm wrong, sorry) where it's way more humid. And since sweating doesn't work nearly as well to cool you off, it feels way hotter. My dad was in Florida once at a game, and he was sweating all over. He was thinking "Wow, it's so hot, it must be at least 110 degrees!" It was 85 degrees

Sometimes living in a desert in the middle of nowhere has it's advantages :P

For us marching is required while jazz is extra. If marching was optional, we wouldn't have a marching band...

And we live in the land of 365 seasons, our weather is different every day...

Yes, and humidity is only worse when you're surrounded by lakes...
