Can't you be rewarded for good behaviour? By that I mean if you have built up bans during the previous system (which I may have up to 50 days) can't they be slowly decreased if you don't get a ban for a long time (which I haven't)?

You should change the way you consider offensives, not the punishments for them. In other communities spam or in other words flood would be considered as posting multiple times at once, not one post -_-

Third. [EDIT] OK, someone beat me too it. Not so much third. I hope it works, but what I think we need is a better way to make sure the bad players get banned in the first place. The problem isn't that people are banned too long. I think the problem is all the mults/haters never get banned in the first place.

 

Currently, the only ways to report someone are to:

1. Use the /vote playername, and hope a mod shows up and does something about it. In my entire tanki career this has never worked once.

2. Take screen recording, play with it on(this will reduce fps, and 'free' screen recording software isn't necessarily good for your computer) and send the video of the mult/player to this forum.

 

Could this game have some sort of an in-game reporting system, where instead of the /vote playername command, that has never solved a problem for me, we just maybe select the name of the player, and the system automatically records their behavior and recent chats for a mod to look at later? The mod could look at their behavior, and if it was repeated friendly fire, or pushing friendly snipers off, or blocking people with the enemy flag, or posting lots of inapproriate things or whatever, it could be easily verified and the apporpriate ban handed down.

 

This system would mean that:

1. People would very rarely, if ever be banned for something they didn't do. Assuming the mods do their job, all bans would be correct.

2. Mults/haters would be banned. People would start reporting them, because instead of almost no chance something would be done about it, there would be a very high chance that player would be banned. This would really improve gameplay.

3. Mults/haters would die out. Accurate, quick, and universal reporting means that they would quit trying, or else not be able to except in noob accounts, because their higher accounts will be banned if they mult

 

This would result in the bad players, haters, and mults actually getting banned. And they would die out almost completely because their behavior could be easily verified.

This, 100% I had a similar idea. This really does need to be added.

Everyone is going to get a 6 month ban at some point. Sometimes I forget caps is on and I type. The caps will come up and I get a day ban. Like stated in an earlier post, sometimes in battles you have the chat  open and you don't realize and you try to turn your turret. You don't think about so you press enter and that comes up. A day ban. Accidents happen and this system how it is won't compensate for them. I don't want to get banned for accidently leaving caps on or forgetting that I had chat open.  And then there's always the typos. -_- To me, is it gets minor tweaks, it would be fabulous.

I've never gotten any ban for accidentally writing "xx" for example.

i get ban for 30 days and i deserved it,but i get another ban for a day for i dont know what,really really nothing. I just play and chatting with my own friends,next day i login on tanki,try to wrote hello and suprise suprise-ban!

So this is mistakethey made and there is nothing i can do about it,i know cause i really done nothing,but nothing wrong. Lots of players have same expiriance

It's extremely unlikely I ever get banned,but seriously I think this proposed system is a bit harsh. So if I accidentally have my keyboard jam or something, I get a day ban straight?? Is that really just, 5 minutes or an hour at most is fair enough.

 

I also don't like this day ban that adds up, you're telling me if someone gets a flood ban (everyone has had this by accident) 30 times in there whole tanki career from recruit to gissimo, they will get a week banned for the next one?

 

This needs to be re-considered.

Yes I am one of the few "OLDER players" I am 44 years old, and I love playing this game, and enjoy spending time with all of my friends here on tankionline.

I am no longer able to travel as a professional musician as I have for the past 20 years since being diagnosed with heart disease. So, while awaiting a heart transplant, about a year ago I started playing TANKI, and was hooked the first time I played, So now Everyday I spend 80% of my days and nights playing TANKI, and the ONLY negative experience that I have had on TANKI is due to the current system. With All Due Respect to The Tankionline administration, I feel that when you have NON-ADULTS "policing others" it will never work as a "Fair and Just System", allow me share a couple of my "Personal Experiences" with this "System"...

 

~ I have entered into a chat before and NOT EVEN TYPED 1 single word (I have witnesses) and gotten "flood warning" and then I type "why?" and guess what... yep "5 minute ban for flooding". This HAS happened to me a few times, and it can be verified by others who seen it themselves, Now tell me just "what is that about?" perhaps a MOD with personal issues abusing their power?

(and by NO MEANS am I implying this to "ALL MODS" because there are a couple of decent MODS that do the very best that they can within the system they are allowed to operate in, and KUDOS to them)

 

~ also I was also in a RIO ctf match, there were 1 player on the other team vs.me and someone else, The player on my team was apparently trying to sabotage me by blocking me in pushing me over the edge (obviously friends with the other player)...anyway, So I reported him via /vote: name, within 1 minute I was Banned for 24 hours for making a "false report", once again, What is THAT all about?

 

This is just a couple of issues that I as well as a few of my friends (and I KNOW that I speak for SEVERAL OTHER TANKI PLAYERS who remain silent)  have had to "deal with", I never try to "plead my case", I just accept it and go on hoping to avoid it happening in the future, but that is kind of a difficult thing to do when  all of this has been out of my control to begin with.

Now dont get me wrong, Im no angel by no means, there has been maybe 2 maybe 3 times AT THE MOST that I have gotten upset at the actions of chat trollers and may have used a choice word or two, and probably insulted them as well, I do apologize for making a bad decision at the time, but in my defense you will find that it was when I first started playing the game and really didnt understand "the system" (im not saying that excuses it, Im just being honest and accountable) other than that EVERYONE has "one of those days" every once in a while, I dont care how old or young or who you are things "happen" to all of us.

 

Anyway I feel making new harsher rules to a system that is BIASED makes no sense, Once the "BAN HAMMER" has swung, there is no "Timely Dispute System" and most of the time The MOD's word is superior against yours. The current VERY HARSH system is NOT FAIR to everyone (some more than others)  and by making it even Harsher is NOT an improvement. I do however feel that there are SEVERAL of "other options" to improve the current system, but that is Just my humble Opinion.

I just have question, for example, one chat moderator know a lot guys, and he is good with all members but they each are not, and how can this moderator then give ban to one player without reason or other guys give old screen shot from chat if he write something and it's not for ban, but he get ban, because this chat moderator listen to other who and what they said!

I agree with guy @juggernout-go a lot players and clan leaders have a complaint about the chat moderators! I don't speak a lot i mean i don't speak on chat, maybe few words per week and it's only hello or something so it's why i haven't maybe same problems, but you have really bad chat moderators.

The two players insult each other in public chat, one player says to moderator to get him ban. Moderator do it, and player who has also violated the rules did not get the punishment because he is good with the moderator. Is that fair?

2 month bans would only count as 30 bandays.

Hey jamie. If you ever have a problem with a player not being banned, make sure to report him on the Forum, where he'll get banned for sure if he violated the rules.

Moderators can be flooded with the conversations.

@jamester69 nice but like i said i see it and i know it, there is 2 players who insult each other and one said to moderator his friend to get him ban, and he do it this moderator, and interesting is that this guy who same insult first player didn't get ban because he know this moderator, he is friend with him and we will do all  what he need! It's shame and stupid for me and for all this game. You really do something bad here and don't want to fix it, there is million problems for which you don't care!

 it can save and keep calm nerves, in case inadequate players.
