Strange (for me) mine behavior

 Share

Recommended Posts

For the first time today I noticed a feature on mines released by opponents and I was wondering if it is normal, new or a hack...

I was in Highland with snow, so it was white everywhere.

When running, I exploded abruptly with no explanation two or three times...

Then I slowed down a little (avoiding to be killed for how long it was possible...) and noticed that just a couple of metres before aprroaching a mine.... it appeared visible to me.

The mine was laid on the snow but it was completely invisible until I got very close, then faded in ... and I could avoid it!

Is it normal, does it depend on the fact that it was laid on the snow, despite the fact that the ground was perfectly plain??

Or is is a trick I don't know yet???

Thank you for your help....

That's exactly how it should be! Only your team's mines can be seen from a distance. Enemy mines can be seen from a little distance, and they fade out when your'e far of them. That's exactly how the mines works.

That's strange, because I'm quite sure that in other battles I could see enemy's mines from a fairly good distance...

And you know if they are yours or theirs because of the color...

It's the first time I see "stealth" mines...

mmmm... <_<

In deathmatches the mine is green and not yellow. Mines are best friends with a tank. Why? Here's why, once i was playing a sandbox CTF and i taked the enemy flag i killed the three opponents that have been chasing me (while drugging), the fourth opponent was an isida left it was chasing me and attacking together. When i was going to drift to get to the otherside a placed a mine and the opponent got destroyed in the air by the mine. And for me, well i capture the flag and luckily it was the last one since the battle fund was 1000 and beyond.

In Deathmatches, the yellow enemy mines are visible from farther away for me, but yeah, there have always been, *ahem*, "Stealth Mines" in Tanki.

I was in TDM and mines are red and blue...

What does it mean "there have always been, *ahem*, "Stealth Mines" in Tanki"?

That you can have "special" mines??? If yes, HOW???

(just curious.... you never end learning...  ;) )

Its easy to guess why in TDM's/CTF's mines are blue and red, its because the mines that are blue belong to the blue team and that means if any player of the team blue place a mine and a teammate goes through it he won't take any damage. Same with red team.

All the mines are "stealth mines"! All the mines become invisible when your'e far enough from them!

Haha, that's like dumb english when you say ''u'' and not ''you''. When you say correctly ''you'', well that's called fluent english.

That's obvious, no?

No, it's not obvious...

When I say that I saw the mines right before I hit them... it's not normal!

It's too close!

Usually you can see them fairly earlier than arriving right over them...

That's why I'm suspicious of something fishy about that...

You have to be careful where your running, especially when your running with hornet or a wasp with double nitro. Well, in that case since your running fast you won't be able to see the mine.

Yes, that's true...

But I had few moments to test the situation (before being hit and destroyed...  )...

I slowly got closer and saw the mine "appearing", then I went back again and the maine disappeared.... to reappear again when I moved closer...

I'm talking about movements of less than 1 m back and forth... and I was at no more than 2 m from the mine....

Once again: too close in my opinion!  <_<
