I just wanted to thank Tanki Online

For a long time now I've been the first to compliment Tanki Online for their efforts to prvide a good gaming experience and updatnig the game with new and cool extras... but now I have to tell you you really droped the ball...

 

The new upgraded parameters of weapons were really bad thought out, the only thing you managed was to overpower certain weapons and transforming previously good weapons and hulls into pieces of trash.

 

The Ricochet is now an overpowered weapon, i takes exactly 4 shots from a M0 Ricochet to kill a M1 Hornet (the most played hull of all), during wich your tank spins out of control and is impossible to return fire. Powerfull shots, excessive impact force and a fire rate above average is what we got, making the battlefield completelly off-balanced.

 

Thunder was great in close and far combar, now it's bellow average in far and a waste of time in close combat. It takes several shots to take down any single tank, even with the nuclear power-up, giving you next to zero chances to win a fight against almost every tank.

 

Railgun and Shaft are now over the top weapons. With the hulls becoming weaker and (specially Railgun) gaining extra penetration power its now possible to take down several tanks with a single shot, and with a decent fire rate you turned railgun in the most overpowered weapon of all.

 

Firebird has decreased after-damage, but it lasts longer, meaning its the same thing in a different way, wich preys on weakened hulls like never before.

 

Freeze is simply freeze, the most unfair weapon of all... sticks you into the ground and gives you zero chance of getting away. If it does that to you IT SHOULD BE THIS ONE having its damage cut (and not by a bit), as it sticks you and kills you with a single discharge. At least it should only be allowed to fire when completelly recharged.

 

Twins is now a joke, you can relax and take a few shots before thinking of returning fire, as the increased fire rate only comes into play when you have the nuclear power-up, other than that it only itches a bit.

 

Smoky has way too much impact force, and with the fire rate it has how can you expect lighter tanks face it with any kind of chance of winning?

 

The only thing I have to point out to Isida is tha you get the M2 way too soon, while the other players have to wait between 2 to 5 extra ranks to get the M2.

 

 

 

As for hulls, the Hornet hull was one of the best... it's now a piece of trash. It now spins out of control when shot at, doesn't resist more than 4 seconds under fire and it's turning is out of control... It's a hull that used to rely on a decent maneuverabillity and resist at least one shot from a railgun... now is does neither.

 

Mammoth and Titan, with the decrease of shot power in weapons such as Thunder are now extremelly hard to kill. Park one of those next to a flag with a Shaft (or as it's become fashion these days combine it with a Freeze and park right on top of the flag) and it's game.

 

Viking and Hunter are now dominating the close combat fields, it's easy to see a Viking jumping in the middle of 3 or 4 hornets and comming out on top.

 

The changes on Dictator and Wasp are not really that significant, but if you try to catch a Wasp with anoy other hull... well just don't.

 

 

As everything goes, this is my oppinion and after talking with several players I foud most of them agrees with it. I'm not saying to reverse the changes you made, but I think a new callibration on parameters, specially on Ricochet and Railgun is justified.

yes i know  i agree A LOT with you. firebird is famous for its after burn. now i know its better but i still like the old one. the after burn is shorter but it takes WAY more damage. now freeze is in every battle as before and just destroys my after burn.

Just add your name to growing list of ignored and angry players thinking of leaving. The deafening silence from the people in charge speaks louder then words anyway. Some feel the silence means they are thinking, to me it means "We couldn't care less about what you think"

Being "the first to say" is just a figure of speech, I'm not literally the first.... and I don't see why this should be deleted, it's my oponion and I think we are free to express our opinions, how else is the game going to move forward? Or is it just valid when we agree?

 

 

I am a Thunder + Hornet player, and I've been noticing the game is much harder, as players with significantly lower ranks than mine always take the advantage just because they are playing with Ricochet or Smoky and the fire rate + impact force almost make my tank flip over... those weapons became really overpowered, and the other weapons that already were powerful, like Railgun and Shaft, are even more so because the most played hulls are weaker...

 

It's like they told me "Yeah, we know you spent a lot of time and crystals evolving your tank, but guess what, now your turret and hull are garbage."

I hate ricochet now that it can kill me easily, though before it wasn't so easy to kill me with a ricochet. But since i use fire, fighting a ricochet might kill me and the after-burn effect will finish him off.

Guys, why don't you actually try to hit the people that you can kill...? Stop using thunder to kill players across stadium, stop using twins on a hornet to kill mammoths, stop using random bad equips on hornet and stop stopping to kill people. That will get you killed. Ugh, why don't you guys just get creative in the game instead of in the forum.

People, tanki devs never will "balance" the game. The weapons in a tier will never be equal, for instance M3 rico = M3 twins. Tanki is not trying to and never will balance the game. They make their money by swapping the OP equipment in and out to force people to buy to compete.

 

I like tanki much better when they were developing the game, making things look better and work better. Now they are just repeatedly changing the balance so that non-buyers are screwed.

 

The only thing you can do about this is buy the underpowered equipment now and hope that it will be the new OP equipment when they next "balance" the game... Except oh wait, if you do that, you won't be able to afford M3 according to the tanki devs, who say you will only be able to afford one combination to M3. I guess we are screwed either way.

 

And yes DGSlima, freeze and particularly freeze mammoths parked on flags ruin CTF entirely. I leave a CTF team if the other team has multiple freezes. The tanki devs don't care about fun gameplay anymore, and won't fix this.

When did tanki become all about high speed, high paced game play. It's a tank game (well at least it used to be) your supposed to use strategy and tactics. Now it's more like need for speed with guns. Some times not moving is a better strategy, movement reveals your position.  Kinda hard to do now.

I agree. They will never balance the game, for every reason you mention.

You mention how hard it is for non buyers. Do non buyers have any idea how much money it costs to buy enough crystals to buy m2 then m3 turrets and hulls with all the micro upgrades? Lots of players started to build for their future garage at the m2 level, assuming that when they where able to buy m3 , it would still be what they wanted. I guess we assumed wrong. This is why so many do not wish to take the gamble of buying truck loads of crystals, with such an unstable set of parameters that can change at any time, making previous purchases pointless. and a waste of money.

As a Ricochet user, I do feel overpowered in the battle field for a couple of reasons:

1. It takes 5-6 shots to kill a Hornet M1 with Rico M1 

2. I kill M1 Mammoths with ONE FULL CHARGE (9 shots) WTH?!

3. It's just no fun taking over a Deathmatch from a Thunder user who has 35 kills advantage. It's just B.O.R.I.N.G.

Hornet was a bit too good, which was why it was so popular in the first place. I'm not saying the nerf was too much or too little. I'm just saying that any kind of nerf was to be expected.

You can't expect everything strong, to remain strong in Tanki Online. Things will change, and change again. Just be glad Hornet didn't get the Mammoth treatment, I'm sure ya'll know what I'm

talking about. :P

 

You can stop a Wasp, just know how to handle a fast enemy, yeah? It is supposed to be known for its great speed, but you're not exactly supposed to CATCH it, since that'll require going close to it.

Do remember that it is unstable, and has a lesser amount of Health. A well-aimed and well-timed shot can do the trick, especially with Thunder's longer range.

 

Lol, no way dude. I think Mammoth, unless drugging like hell, is one of the worst things to leave a flag with. It's pretty much immobilized, an assassin Firebird can easily cripple or kill it, and damage several tanks nearby fatally. Furthermore, a Freeze puts it in the Ice Age and it's down. And for Ricochet, just find a good spot, and bounce your shots off walls so the Mammoth can't target you.

It's an immobilized tank waiting to be shot down.

 

Most of the people I've seen actually hate the new Viking. . .. saying it sucks. But which M's are you talking about? I'm assuming m0-m1? Not M2-M3 right. . . . .

Maybe the impact of this update was different for ranks I guess. . . . meaning instead of criticizing the tanks/turrets wholly, we should work on dissecting the individual M#'s. Yeah?

Think about it, Viking/Dictator practically swapped up, and Dictator was known for being very good at lower ranks, which is exactly where you're at right now. . . .. Hehe. . . . well this is interesting.

 

Keep in mind that I'm not meaning your rank is a bad thing about you. Rank doesn't matter if you know what you're talkin' about, just to bring that up so you don't think I'm saying you don't have enough experience on what you're talking about because of your rank.  Lol. :D

1. Mammoth and drugging like @#!*% are almost synonymous. Seriously, so far as I can tell most heavy tank users are hardcore druggers at the higher ranks. One of the actually good updates was the update that reduced nitro and gave the light tanks more speed. This was great because silence games were no longer chock full of drugger mammoth/isida/freeze/flame. That update turned drugging mammoths from nearly unstoppable attackers and defenders to just nearly unstoppable defenders

2. An assassin firebird can easily cripple it and damage several tanks neaby fatally. Well, if the mammoth has twins, freeze, or isida, it probably won't get hurt much. Second of all, the firebird dies after damaging it. Which is okay, because if this were a team game, I could approach from the other flank and take the flag and run. Unfortunately, I don't speak Russian, teams are full of mults/crystal collectors rather than people  who would rather use teamwork, and finally, any good strategy will be ruined by one unlucky encounter with one enemy freeze. Tanki has replaced teamwork with drugging noobs stealing pots.

 

I think it is rather sad that this game is built around paying noobs with no skill whatsoever (I have seen very high ranked players trying to figure out how to use shaft and scoping in to tap someone) drugging to steal pots from skilled people.

3.  Yes, please, let's dissect invdividual ranks and stuff. Should I get M2 rico in my main?

 

On an unrelated note, I think the "need for speed with guns" post has a point. The tanks used to be agonizingly slow. Finally the devs improved this somewhat with new physics and the nitro mod. Unfortunately, the maps are still designed for tanks with appallingly slow speeds.

Yeah, if they would just balance the game, work on improving it, smarter and wiser players would consider buying. Unfortunately, tanki has realized this as well, and is doing these balances to make more money, instead of making a better game to attract more buyers. This game's days might be numbered. I wouldn't be surprised if unity went the way of Tanki 2.0.

I think you miss the point. Yes, let's discuss what is currently better and OP, but know as you buy it, that the next update will destroy months of work on your part, as tanki does another shortsighted rebalance. The trick here is more figuring out what will be OP after the next rebalance, or the one after that. Twins have always been OP. Maybe after this next "balance" they will be nerfed. Or maybe I am dreaming : ).

1. Oh I didn't mean Mammoth didn't need a nerf. It did need one, just not so much. Before this current rebalance, Mammoth was pretty much useless in most scenarios. It could be pushed, and killed pretty easily in my opinion. Although it got better after this re-balance, I'm still disappointed that they boosted Titan. They gave it greater speed, and lessened the health gap between the two. I guess Mammoth's time to shine again shall be delayed. :P

 

2. The weaponry does not really matter. A skilled "assassin" can easily go around or at least get close enough to let loose a deadly dose. Besides, the burn affect is now a whopping 30 seconds long, and

it's always important to include multiple tanks in your cloud of fire. You would burn the Isidas as well obviously.

 

3. Was that sarcastic or not? Lol. I think it was. :rolleyes: But nonetheless, taking a look at the differences of M#'s and when they're unlocked impacts gameplay a lot.

 

As for "why not just balance the game?" Well, I believe devs already answered that. There is no true balance, Tanki Online will always have to change around stats and re-configure hulls and all.

OK, we agree on some things.

 

1. Yes, mammoth was nerfed WAY too far. More below.

 

2. Have you ever tried to approach a twins? If you are near a twins camping on a flag in defense, you have to keep moving. You are in the enemy spawns. You can't always wait for a strategic way to attack a mammoth like in a DM. The other spawning enemies will kill you.

 

3. That wasn't sarcastic. Seriously my main  is nearly at the rank with the symbol of 4 gold diamonds(I don't remeber the name). Do you think M2 rico is worth it? It is OP right now. I currently use M2 isida, which does work OK. But it won't be half as good three ranks from now.

 

As for "why not just balance the game". The devs could completely balance the game, all tiers, all weapons, all hulls, tomorrow if they wanted. They won't, for the reasons in my above post. Guns and hulls wouldn't need to be rebalanced except when a physics update or something happened, and then they could easily get it right within a couple weeks. They don't want to. They want to preserve the current system, which makes more money, at least in the short term, with less work. It is easier to nerf the previously OP weapons occasionally to force players with the previously OP weapons to lose or buy, then to continually develop a good game. Human nature won.

 

[EDIT] It just occurred to me that everyone who bought that fancy moon silence paint with 22% rico protection is just laughing right now.

 

M3 mammoth is an example. It used to be great and a ton of people bought it. But then these updates, which as you said went too far and nerfed it to the ground, occurred. How many players went and bought crystals to get M3 titan? I am guessing quite a few. If you couldn't get titan, you had a major disadvantage. The point of the constant "balances" is to force people to buy by nerfing the equipment they bought with the crystals they earned. Tanki made money at the Mammoth users expense.

 

I noticed the censor too, that is really really, odd I don't think it is my computer.

Skills is part of result in confrontation, differently, if you like shooting without using any skills and you want to use it usefully, I recommend you Twins.

Like some user's on the forum, I did support Tanki at first. But now playing with the rebalance, it SUCKS!

 

Somethings are good. A lot of people don't like how the after burn of the Firebird is longer, but slightly weaker. I do feel as if that does make it more fair for the rest of us. And, that's the main reason to use the firebird. To fire, and run. So what they did is take the best of the firebird, and make it better (and slightly worse) but I'm fine with that.

 

The Ricochet is WAY to powerful. I'm glad the Richy got a little more juice, but now... The reason to use the gun was for the richochet effect.

 

The Twins are faster but weaker. Okay, so taking what the Twins is good at but making them slightly weaker, right? Nope. I wish they would strengthen each shot just slightly more, then it would be more balanced.

 

Thunder, yeah. That is a joke. I use the say it was the best turrent in the game because it was great all around. Powerful without being ridiculous, decent reload time, good at sniping and mid range. Now it's just good at sniping.

 

Railgun, I don't know. I haven't seen much of a difference. So that's fine.

 

Shaft, great update. This is one of the only things I like. It's weaker, but sniper mode is better. Which is good. Also, now that arcade mode is better, Shaft's have a chance. This update actually, like the Firebird, was a good rebalance.

 

Freeze, it's a freeze. They can make it the most powerful gun in the game for what I care. Then at least we can get back to fighting faster.

 

Smoky, also a pretty fair update. Now that critical is slightly weaker but has a higher chance does give the Smoky a place on the battle field.

 

Isida is baaaaddd. Who in their right mind would use it now? For clans it's great...

 

 

I'm not even going to get into the Hulls...



Really Tanki, re-balance the rebalance. Some of what  you did is good, some bad.

I think we should try to get everyone to email Tanki online to rebalance the rebalance... Have a "strike" if you will...

actually i like thunder m3 and hornet m3 i have more control over it. and it's not to fast just right

There are things i agree with but also things i disagree with.

 

For example , VIking/Hunter who dominates the battlefield. Well in higher ranks that's sure not the case , cause it's the buyer kits that dominates. You can't take a look behind you or a Brigadier one shots you with his Light kit m3. Or just drive thrhough the map without seeing a Heavy kit m3.

 

What i agree with is the turrets. With Thunder and after that Twins as my main turrets i feel heavily screwed , since they've became weaker.

 

Im seriously thinking of getting Light kit m3 , as it seems the only way to dominate , like i used to do with Mammoth-Twins/Thunder.

This is my take:

 

Firebird: It got better, it really needed a damage buff.

Freeze: It's about the same, but it got the nerf it needed (lower range and decreased unfreezing time), which I am fine with.

Isida: I don't use it much, so I really don't have much to say.

Twins: More fun to use, it's still easy for twins to be really good, but now it takes skill to do so instead of before when you could literally put a brick on the spacebar and drive around. The decreased impact force was needed for the increased fire rate.

Ricochet: I really like this gun now, maybe the damage increase was a little too much, but now (not to toot my own horn, but I am actually pretty skilled with rico.) it got better and is now a force on the battle field instead of a mere annoyance.

Smoky: I hardly use it anymore, since I mostly play on large maps. The new crit system is fun though.

Thunder: I am most unhappy with this, since it really got a lot worse than before. I went into a sandbox CP and couldn't get a single kill. I wish the damage would be increased again, maybe not to what it was before, but at least something decent.

Railgun: Not much change, but I like to see that the penetration does some good, and it's more likely to get a double kill. Takes more skill to use now.

Shaft: It got better, I like the fact that the shots in arcade more don't remove all your energy any more. It's really convenient. But I do wish that you could enter sniper mode no matter how much energy you have.

 

Now for the hulls.

 

Wasp: I like that you can do around corners without losing speed, but I still really don't like its fragility, so I don't use it.

Hornet: I didn't see much change, except a decrease in hp that can be solved by micro upgrades. The slight decrease in speed doesn't matter to me a lot. Still one of the best hulls in my opinion.

Hunter: I really like what they did here, I always thought that hunter was one of the best hulls, but I think M2 and M3 unlocks too late. I used it primarily at M2 from captain to about Brigadier, then my hornet had more hp than it. The HP buff was needed.

Viking: Amazing hull, the hp decrease was less than I expected, and I love the increase in speed. I tend to get pushed around a lot though.

Dictator: It needed more stability, It was too much like a big wasp. Now, it can face off with the heavy hulls very well. I think what they did here made sense.

Titan: The HP buff was needed, it was not strong enough against mammoth. Otherwise, I think it's about the same.

Mammoth: The better maneuverability made me really happy, the previous turning speed pretty much made it junk in my opinion after the rebalance before this. 

 

Some things need to be changed and buffed again, like the thunder, but most of it I was pretty happy with.

I, along with others disagree with the majority of your posts. I also highly doubt that you can really adapt to changes in a few weeks of it coming out. Especially when instead of trying, they start complaining on forums instead.

 

By the way, many say this are now OP yet you think otherwise. Doesn't this show that there is atleast some ddivesristy and split in the changes, which is what tanki want.

 

Same with Viking, many think it's quite bad yet you seem to believe it and hunter rule certain maps. This is what tanki want, diversity and free opinion. There is no "perfect weapon" and Tanki strive to keep it that way.
