Somethings are good. A lot of people don't like how the after burn of the Firebird is longer, but slightly weaker...

Are you joking... Today i was playing with viking m2, firebird m1 attacked me and he burned 1/3 of my health away, then there was the afterburn... IT KILLED ME?!?! It damaged me 130hp, just the afterburn

balance in the game isn't too bad. i mean people are talking about tons of different guns/hulls as being OP, well they cant all be OP at the same time can they? 

as a player who has been on tanki for years, i think the problem is balancing the abilities of freeze/fire and the crits from smoky etc.  

the game actually works pretty well because:

1 If one gun becomes slightly too powerful, most people will just get a paint for it.

2 with huge variety of maps, any gun/hull is still useful in certain places even if its crippled by a rebalance.

 

one real concern i think is offering refunds with major rebalances. if people could spend their crystals differently after seeing changes then no one could complain.

the game is still actually great. notice the variety of guns/hulls/paints in every battle? obviously someone thinks those are still good combos.

I personally don't mind the rebalance and it's fun to play with changed game dynamics. The game will never be balanced.

 

I do have a problem with Tanki manipulating the rebalance for their own financial benefit. If you are going to change the dynamics: sway smoky and thunder, swap dictator and Viking, nerf and overly buff guns, then there has to be some COMPENSATION. A lot of us have saved and saved to get the guns we want, only for them to be changed. This then changes the usefulness of paints, which are very expensive. I certainly feel cheated.

 

Some compensation may be for Tanki to refund up to 4 items of choice for 50%. In that case, players like me who have saved up patiently, not bought crystals, waited for the sales can get our crystals back and start saving again for a new gun or hull.

For a long time now I've been the first to compliment Tanki Online for their efforts to prvide a good gaming experience and updatnig the game with new and cool extras... but now I have to tell you you really droped the ball...

 

The new upgraded parameters of weapons were really bad thought out, the only thing you managed was to overpower certain weapons and transforming previously good weapons and hulls into pieces of trash.

 

The Ricochet is now an overpowered weapon, i takes exactly 4 shots from a M0 Ricochet to kill a M1 Hornet (the most played hull of all), during wich your tank spins out of control and is impossible to return fire. Powerfull shots, excessive impact force and a fire rate above average is what we got, making the battlefield completelly off-balanced.

 

Thunder was great in close and far combar, now it's bellow average in far and a waste of time in close combat. It takes several shots to take down any single tank, even with the nuclear power-up, giving you next to zero chances to win a fight against almost every tank.

 

Railgun and Shaft are now over the top weapons. With the hulls becoming weaker and (specially Railgun) gaining extra penetration power its now possible to take down several tanks with a single shot, and with a decent fire rate you turned railgun in the most overpowered weapon of all.

 

Firebird has decreased after-damage, but it lasts longer, meaning its the same thing in a different way, wich preys on weakened hulls like never before.

 

Freeze is simply freeze, the most unfair weapon of all... sticks you into the ground and gives you zero chance of getting away. If it does that to you IT SHOULD BE THIS ONE having its damage cut (and not by a bit), as it sticks you and kills you with a single discharge. At least it should only be allowed to fire when completelly recharged.

 

Twins is now a joke, you can relax and take a few shots before thinking of returning fire, as the increased fire rate only comes into play when you have the nuclear power-up, other than that it only itches a bit.

 

Smoky has way too much impact force, and with the fire rate it has how can you expect lighter tanks face it with any kind of chance of winning?

 

The only thing I have to point out to Isida is tha you get the M2 way too soon, while the other players have to wait between 2 to 5 extra ranks to get the M2.

 

 

 

As for hulls, the Hornet hull was one of the best... it's now a piece of trash. It now spins out of control when shot at, doesn't resist more than 4 seconds under fire and it's turning is out of control... It's a hull that used to rely on a decent maneuverabillity and resist at least one shot from a railgun... now is does neither.

 

Mammoth and Titan, with the decrease of shot power in weapons such as Thunder are now extremelly hard to kill. Park one of those next to a flag with a Shaft (or as it's become fashion these days combine it with a Freeze and park right on top of the flag) and it's game.

 

Viking and Hunter are now dominating the close combat fields, it's easy to see a Viking jumping in the middle of 3 or 4 hornets and comming out on top.

 

The changes on Dictator and Wasp are not really that significant, but if you try to catch a Wasp with anoy other hull... well just don't.

 

 

As everything goes, this is my oppinion and after talking with several players I foud most of them agrees with it. I'm not saying to reverse the changes you made, but I think a new callibration on parameters, specially on Ricochet and Railgun is justified.

Huh, wonder what tactics you use as a Thunder. Why not utilize your surroundings and use peek-a-boo tactics instead of needlessly staying in the open as an easy kill? Utilize your longer range, and be smart. Of course if you let the enemy have clear shots at you you'll be dead. Skill and tactics are required, you can't just blame the turrets and hulls. Thunder never was good at close range combat.. the self-damage has always been a weakness. Of course Railgun and Shaft have high damage, they're meant to take out the Light hulls. And how is Rail overpowered? Make them miss and their attack is negated. Smoky's impact is quite high, so get used to adjusting aim and driving around. Freeze effect is frustrating, but you of course outrange them. And btw, M2 Freeze unlocks at Warrant Officer 5... earliest M2 unlock. And if you think Hornet is weak, just upgrade to a Medium hull or buy a paint to protect yourself. Of course, the main thing is to have fun. If you no longer are having fun, then just don't play the game.

Guys, why don't you actually try to hit the people that you can kill...? Stop using thunder to kill players across stadium, stop using twins on a hornet to kill mammoths, stop using random bad equips on hornet and stop stopping to kill people. That will get you killed. Ugh, why don't you guys just get creative in the game instead of in the forum.

The reason that they garbaged hornet is because it is over used they want more people to use wasp, hunter dictator and Titan and less to FTC (follow the crowd) get a better bed!
