No.

 

1) No game is competing for players, WoT has 4 times more players than TO, +in WoT, multi-accounts aren't allowed.

2) WoT is more realistic, Tanki Online is more fun.

The only disadvantage with tanki is that it has less players then WOT.  no Realism is not a disadvantage at all.

World of Tanks is near the end of it's days, It'l be playable for a year or 2 until competitors make better games, there is one going into open beta soon next month.

I feel this will overtake World of Tanks within 3 years, and they already have a planes mode in OBT, I would play it if I had the time, but I'm going to stick to Arma 3 until I have more time.

Yeah, not rivals at all.

Maybe Tanki thinks of them as rivals, but WoT doesn't. Tanki online is, as already said, just for players to have fun. WoT is more realistic, and complicated. I actually like both games a lot. I just play this one because WoT would lag like crazy on my computer.

Wot will still be popular even though compititors will make better games than them, it wont matter, Wot got there first and people wont leave them all of a sudden for better games.

I actually like that about it. But as said, it's a simulator.

 

I wish tanki would add a sudden death game mode. It would be like, team death match, except everyone only gets like, three lives.

Clearly, there are 3 tanks games, WoT = Arcade, Tanki = Flash, WarThunder: Ground Forces = Simulator.

 

Out of all the players in Tanki, only around 100 000 get on at maximum (Unless there is a big change).  Estimated because back when I last checked the server load chart, it was 72 000 on a weekend.

 

In other words, Tanki and WoT are not rivals, War Thunder: Ground forces and WoT are competitors at the moment, WoT has implemented a game rule that you are not allowed to mention War Thunder: Ground forces in the chat as more people will probably try it out, and move to that game.

 

Games are about making money and stopping users from moving to competitors because they are better, (Even though that depends if you prefer an Arcade or Simulator game.)

 

 

I classify WoT as an arcade because they have a lot of stuff that never got off the Drawing board, and they made up 3 of their vehicles, (T-28 Prototype, and 2 variants of SPGs based on German heavy vehicles) 

 

War Thunder: Ground forces (and War Thunder in general) has less of a 'grind' to unlock vehicles, they also offer realism which is what a lot of people are looking for, WoT also requires you to buy a 'Premium' Crypto-currency to actually have fun at the higher end of the game.

 

 

Tanki isn't even trying for realism, they are thinking about attracting the younger audience into gaming. I also feel Tanki should change their game engine/rework the whole physics system, the special physics for all vehicles are a nice addition, but I feel the Turrets should also have an affect on that and change the weight distribution of tanks (e.g. Hunter should be heavier at the back  and Mammoth should slide down slopes ('Hill' map) when broad sided)

 

I might add more on to this post later, all of my opinion is subject to change.
